new storage box for the runner

I constructed a storage box for all my junk a few weekends ago. just thought i would show it off for those that have been wanting to do it. total cost was around $50 for wood, drawer slides, and hardware. not much to it but i keeps me organized. i haven't decided if i'm going to stain it or put carpeting over it, so any comments or advice is welcome. on to the pics...

I definitely need something like that, cus I have subs too and couldn't put one of those big storage ones in without my subs obstructing my rear view. Although I would lose the ability to use my storage cover which I use religiously so no one can peek in to see what I got. I really like it though and yes, it would look awesome carpeted. Great job!

2 drawers with a center support would prevent the saggage from the weight of the sub.
do you have a rear support (behind the drawer)? or maybe add another layer across the top

thanks for the compliments guys. yeah the subs are bowing it in some. i used 1/2" for the top at first then switched to 3/4" thinking it would solve it but it still bows. Its not bad enough to switch it out again because the drawer slides in and out fine, although adding another layer could help... I thought about doing the two drawer system but wanted as much space as possible

Carpet it and get those speakers mounted so they don't just bounce around !

And you really don't want that metal hook on your "tie down" so close to the subwoofers cone. Are those two separate boxes? Maybe you could move them to the opposite sides of the box so they're not close to the center?

why not put herculiner or something on it? it'd definitely keep you subs from sliding around.

mounting it would defeat the purpose of having them in seperate boxes to begin with. they are easier to move around and can be taken in and out whenever i want

the speakers moving around isn't much of a problem. they didnt move that much without the straps except when i turned sharply with some speed. the straps are mainly for peace of mind when my dog rides back there. and IMO herculiner wouldn't look as good as carpet or stain

for JWaldz and others, i was planning on some nice tint later on so using the cover for the back wouldn't be a necessity, plus when i bought my runner i didn't come with one
