New Hood

You have to buy the hood, scoop insert parts (dealer only and wil;l run about $150) plus painting it can cost about $600.
Here's an older thread with some dealer part #s.

There's a lot of threads on the hood scoop so look around.

$224.89 is for a bare hood only. No guts.
Looks like the parts to assemble it would be $78.91 additional.
If you are also concerned about the hood insulator, that is $130.35 as well. They are different Scoop-non-scoop. So the total is now 434.15, plus paint and labor.

When I looked up the hood only it comes up with a 53301-35050. The other number says that it's the hood and components? What gives? Why do they have two different part numbers for the same thing?

couple more question. can i use hood from different year model as long as they're 3rd gen? or am i stuck with using the hood specifically for 2000 model? also, can i use the insulator parts from my stock hood, the non-scoop, and just modify it a bit to fit the one with the scoop or is there just too much to modify?
