MOst of the folks here who offroad have powdercoated bumpers and sliders. I recommend it to help with the elements. It will come off if you're grinding up against rocks but other than that it's worth it for the look and protection.

EDIT:

I prefer the wrinkle finish powder coating.

The time issue is dependant on where you take it really. Some shops might be able to turn it around in a couple days others that are busy might be a week.

I just got my front bumper done and it cost me $75 bucks to do, however Demello took care of all that for me since he built the bumper. Not sure if there was a mark-up for him having to get it down there and get it back, etc.

Hmm, I was expecting it to be alot more money for some reason. I appreciate all of your guys responses, this information has helped alot.
* Does anybody know any other places around Marin County to get powdercoating done, besides West Coast Powdercoats?
* I want to know if there are any negatives to powdercoating....
* What else do people get powdercoated on their rigs.. i dont want it to be some hokey show rig, but i want it to look at good as it performs..you kno?

Thanks for the reply's... Would love to see more pictures...
