kyb gas a just or procomp 3000

I've been searching for the past few days and can't decide. I almost never take the truck off road. All I want is a little better handing from my truck. Already put in the polyurethane bushings and that helped a lot but I want a little more. The stock bilsteins sucked from the start. So which one, KYB or procomp. I know everyone says bilstien HD but it cost more. Again, I don't need it to be off road capable, just a more stable when cornering and nto as bouncy on dips and stuff.

I put the Pro Comps on my last work truck when the stock shocks died. I won't be buying them again b/c they are the stiffest shocks I have ever seen-rode like a dumptruck.

Don't get the ProComp 3000s, they are very stiff. I replaced the stock shocks on my Hilux (with 50K miles on them) for the ES3000s and didnt feel any noticeable difference.

I've heard that the high end ProComps are a lot better, I wanted the Procomp Reservoir shocks, but I had to settle for the ES3000s because a friend was going to bring them from the US and the 3000s were the only ones allowed on the airplane (they contain no gas)

I think I read in some forum that ProComps are made by Rancho, but I could be wrong. In any case the ES3000s look and feel a lot like the Rancho 5000s. (very poor shocks IMO)

I really cant tell you what to get, but one thing I can tell you: Don't get the ProComp 3000s if you want a nice and soft ride.

Okay, I haven't read too many good things about the Procomps. I'm seriously considering HD Bilsteins. You get what you pay for I guess. Everyone seems to rave about them. Now I have to find somewhere that will ship to me in Hawaii for a decent price. Thanks for the replies.

I have had the KYB Monomax on my 99 for 8 months now and what a difference. If you do Highway/Parkway driving or tend to speed a bit on windy roads - I highly recommend them. The ride will feel a little stiff around town or here and there but I bet that your rubber will never leave the road when doing 70-75 on the Saw Mill Parkway - even with the potholes, bumps and drivers on cell phones.

I am certain there is something comparable but I bought these on the recommendation of my local trustworthy mechanic (has 3 SUVs with them installed) who does my Alignments and got exactly what I needed.

I bought mine on line but do not remember where from?? A month after I bought them, someone ran a special buy 3 and get the 4th free. Take a look around.
