K&N Air filter question

I remember reading something a while back about taking out the EFI fuse to reset something in the computer with the air mixture when you install a K&N air filter. What is the purpose for this procedure? If this is the case do you pull the fuse out with the vehicle running, with it off, or do you pull the fuse and start the vehicle? Does anyone have any inside on the proper procedure for doing this. I have a 02 Taco 4x4 2.7L. Thanks in advance.

If all you did was put the drop-in in then you do not need to reset the computer. If you did want to reset the computer then you pull the fuse with the engine off and leave it out for about 20 minutes. Hope this helps.

It will make the computer adapt to the new changes.

Well I just pulled my fuse for about a half hour and put it back in, will it make my truck run better?

By resetting the ECU, your truck adjusts quicker to the mod you installed.
