Hydro-Locking

Well today Gibby, myself, and Brad went to Tahyua. Everything was going well until we hit the mud pit. I decided that I would follow Gibby. So when going into the mud pit, I took a run at it, which was really really bad idea, and hydrolocked my engine. My engine was doing well for the day, until the pit. Now it sounds like all 6 rods are knocking. I was getting ready for the D60 SAS, but now I am wondering what it is that I am going to do now. Probably both, but we will see. I feel so stupid because I knew I should not have done that. Oh well, GOD has my back and is telling me something right now. Only in time will I see what it is that HE is saying. :wtf:

You're on a (3.6 swap) mission from God.

did it stall out..........did you run it without draining water from the oil????
that sucks big time. DO NOT DRIVE UNTILL YOU WORK ON IT. I hydrolocked my 3.4l and it stalled out. filled the engine with mud We towed it home and did not try to start it for 1 week. In that time I did the following...... Lucas, Marvels Myster Oil, change your oil at least 3 times and your plugs should be cleaned/changed every time. Take your intake out and clean the silencers (or do the ISR mod). Use carb cleaner and a tooth brush to clean the intake. Use a gas stabilizer on every fill up and it might be salvagable
you can servive a dunking If you drain your oil after it cools the water will settle at the bottom and can be drained on the trail without loosing oil.Take th.e plugs out and crank it so water is forced out of the cyliders. Next just dry the airbox and filter.

I'm right there with you. I hydro-locked my engine about a month ago. You can see the damage here.

He is saying, "get yourself a snorkel before you do that again".

Sorry to hear about the engine. :pat:
I would bet a rod busted through the side of the block.
Follow Designsbyme's lead and I am sure both of you will be back up in no time!

Nah, he's saying to slow down! Besides, it's a lot more fun to creep into the mud then stop then floor it.

Well, I did a quick check today of the motor! Not good. I have pistons, yes pistons, hitting valves. So no more drivey. I was lucky enough to get it to a buddies house. I am getting ready to move, so when I get settled in, I will be towing my Rig to the new resting ground. I am looking into the 4.3 or a 5.0 to put in for the new power plant and since I will be spending money like crazy, I will go ahead and finish the D60 SAS. The axles are just sitting there!
