Hood Scoop

Aside from the dealer, is there anywhere or anyone else that sells the insert and accessories for it. I went to the dealer and he gave me a list of parts for it which im sure is going to cost over 150 bucks. For example, 2bucks for a washer.

you can go aftermarket, but the fit and finish is questionable.
Evan at Northridge Toyota is offering 25% OEM parts

I don't think there is an aftermarket for those parts and $150 is about right from the stealership.

Your best bet is to look at the salvage yards: http://www.car-part.com/ I found one hood that was damaged but the scoop insert was still good.

Try ebay for non-specific hood scoops. I have a factory hood w/ scoop at the paint shop as we speak and I really can't tell how you'd just fab a hood scoop to the OEM hood. There's probably a ton of work involved.

Jonathan did just this w/ the OEM scoop. Maybe he can help you out on the install piece.

I went through 1st Toyota Parts (Bob Bridge Toyota, out of Washington) to get my accessories for the bulge, They were much cheaper than my local dealership and shipping was super quick. I wouldn't really worry about the hood liner it's just extra money and you don't really need it. Here's a list of the only accessory parts you'll need (the only ones I used): Parentheses signify quantity of each item.

Part & Number
hood 53301-35050
screws (4) 90167-45005
nuts (4) 90179-06324
cushions (4) 90540-05028
rivets (2) 90269-04054
bulge 76181-35901
guide 76182-35020
protectors (4) 76183-12030
protectors (2) 76184-12020
protector 76185-35010
retainer 76187-35010
plate 76192-35010

So Jonathan, did you need a new hood to fit the scoop or is the part you named as "hood" the actual scoop? I always thought you needed a different hood to fit the scoop?

You actually need an entire new hood. The part listed "hood" is the entire new hood, not just a scoop. The hood itself has an opening and it bulges upward like a scoop, but to complete the installation fully, you have to buy accessories that fit inside the bulge to close it in. Inside the bulge there is a guide plate, and a mesh grill insert and also a bulge fitment that encloses the opening inside the bulge. Those little insert peices, plus all the rivets, cushions and screws, cost (from the dealer) around $170, but I got all my stuff from Bob Bridge Toyota and it cost me somewhere around $110 after shipping.

Yup numbers 19-24 in that pic is what I need. I will have to check and see if it will be cost effective to get from that guy or just from my local dealer, I am in Toronto Canada and with the exchange and shipping costs it will probably work out the same as here. Thanks for all the feedback guys, I was just wondering if there were options, I currently have a piece of wood with a couple of hockey pucks jammed under it to fill the hole.
