Go directly back there and have them repair it, they have the means. speak directly with the manager, and express your discontent. try to get a new pan out of them.

are you sure its cross threaded or did they just forget the gasket?

I find that if you keep your cool, show the receipt from the last time you got your oil changed, they should help you out. I had what I thought was a problem and ended up being my ignorance. They were very cool to help out.

the gasket is on there, the oil is coming from around it. they told me it was already leaking and I know it wasn't. This came FROM the manager. what he had said it looked like it was 'previously cross threaded.'

would it be possible to just put a bigger/wider gasket on the oil pan plug?? I have also tried silicone and it just washed away with the leaking oil

you should be able to get an over-sized drain plug to go in there. its just slightly bigger than usual and creats new threads for itself. it may help.

That is one reason I do my own oil changes. It costs less and you can do it right.

For sure try either an oversized plug and/or try cleaning up the existing threads with a threading tap if you have one.

I've done Amsoils bypass filteration set-up on my Superduty. It's a filter relocation system with another oil filter that's like super tight and does some crazy like 1 micron filtration.
