Headlights

I see some people listing that they have added Multi Reflector Headlamps to their 4Runners. What exactly is this for? Do these come stock with certain models and not others?

Your 2002 4runner should come stock with it. I think 3rd gens come stock with it. Anyone correct me if I am wrong on this...

Us 96-98 owners come stock with multi-facet lense headlamps. In '99, Toyota started putting "multi-reflector" headlamps on the 4Runner. This just means that the lense is clear, but the reflector is multi-faceted rather than the reflector being smooth and the lense being multi-faceted. It results in about 15% better illumination and a better overall appearance.

I posted this in another thread, but I can't find it now:

A company called TAP Recycling sells the multireflector headlights. They are not the Toyota genuine headlights. They are made by DEPO. They look almost identical. Side by side, from 10 feet away, you can't tell the difference.

96-98 headlights:

99-02 headlights:

This is why people with 96-98's add the new ones.

Also, you can then add the new clear corners I sell to match them:

With the clear corners, do you generally keep a white bulb in there or add an orange one?

You can do either or. I kept the stock white clear bulbs in mine from the stock lenses.

Some have painted the orange bulbs silver so when they are off you don't see them, and when they are on, they then light orange.
