I have more info on my site if you are interested.

I've been using Mobil1 10w30 but I'll probably switch to 0w40 next time. After 145k miles I noticed that my oil pressure when the truck is hot isn't as good as before. Try to use Wix, Purolator, or Toyota filters. Stay away from Fram.

I use Mobil Syn 10w-30 with a Purolator Pure One filter. I would stick with the recommended weight of 5w-30. For a lot of good oil/filter info see http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?

Tacoma- Pennzoil 5-30 w/Schafers moly additive
Tercel(160k)-Pennzoil high mileage 5-30 w/ Schafers moly additive
Both w/ Napa Gold (Wix) Filters
While using the additive my oil looks brand new after 3k miles of use.
I would deffinately vouch for using the recommended weight oil. We put 10-30 in my dads Z71 one time instead of the recommended 5-30 and it would knock for about 5 minutes upon startup

I use Mobil 1 5w-30 and Toyota filters. I figure if Mobil is good for Porsche is should be good for Toyotas. Just my 2 cents.

why hate Fram?

seen a number of posts around here people bashing Fram - just wondering why

I've had a Fram filter on my 89 Supra since its first oil change - never been disappointed

does it have something to do with compatability with synthetic oil? I am considering going synth on my 00 4R, and without this forum I would have happily stuck with Fram.

Thoughts?
