fram filters have had a pretty bad rap becuase of their poor design and poor quality of filtering media used. Although things might change from different filter models, overall i think fram is not the way to go. I'd trust amsoil filters. Here is a quick example of just how bad of a product Fram would release to the public:

Talking Castrol

Ive always liked Castrol but last time spent the money for Castrol Syntec. Im not impressed at all. I dont know what I expected but there is nothing golden about it that I see. Im going back to regular GTX 1030 and may try some slick.

Exactly. And since I can get a 5-quart jug of Mobil1 5W-30 for $19 @ Walmart and the OEM Toyota filter is $5 I'm happy.

i use castrol high mileage 10w30 ($20 at walmart for 5 qt.) with a napa gold filter which is running me close to $7. maybe i should start using toyota oem filters... hmmmm.

oh yeah, i also run lucas oil stabalizer. it really helps reduce that oil burnoff from my engine.

next oil change im not gonna do it and see what happens.

Castrol 5-30w in all my rigs, napa gold filters no real reason just preferance i guess. Also change the oil at 3,000 to 5,000 no matter what anybody say's. My question is what aftermarket filters have the anti drain back, like that of the oem?

Texaco Havoline 10W40, Toyota filter when available
used to use 20W50 high performance race oil (for the extreme heat), but the engine didn't like it that much.
