Question Electrical nightmare!!

I have a 80 4x4 that has some issues.
List of things that do not work:
heater
tach
water temp gauge
oil press guage
voltage gauge
all dummy lights

I checked the fuse box and I have power to both ends of all
fuses.
Any suggestions would be helpful...

Also, does anybody have the diagram that shows what each
fuse is for?

Thanks,
Chris

If you have power to both ends of all the fuses. Check and make sure that the groud wires are all well connected.

Did you also check the fuses under the hood? Most of your problems seem to be with the combination meter. Sounds like a power or ground problem to all those parts, so think of a fuse, loose ground connector or broken Ign switch.

To any local parts store and pick up a Chiltons Repar manual for year truck and it will have ALL the wiring and fuse diagrams. It SURE helped me out!

Having trouble locating the ground wires. So much crap under the dash. I will keep looking though.

I have one fuse under the hood and it is good. Whoever had the truck before me kind of changed things around.

I have a Haynes but it doesnt show the fuse box lay out.
Just figured somebody might have a copy of it before I have to go buy a whole new book just to see the fuse box.

Thanks guys

The ground wires for my '91 are brown colored......I would think that this convention would have been still used back for your year of truck. Find a brown wire and trace it to a bolt that comes out of the firewall area. The grounds should be secured by a nut to this bolt. The grounds for the interior for my truck are between the pedal cluster and fuse panel......in the bulkhead/firewall area.

Good luck.
