does anyone know how to change rear drum brakes? any write ups for us newbies? I know the front disc ones are easy and i've done it on many other cars.

Hey Ray!

I did mine recently for the first time and kinda' winged it. I didn't see a write-up around, but I didn't really look for one.

It's not hard to do, but you'll want to keep an eye on the parts as you take things out.

I wish I had more time these days, I'd come over and help... sorry man. Hopefully someone can point you to a write-up.

that's what i hear from everyone, put them back in in the order you took out. I guess I'll just have to do it to see what that means. Hopefully I'm not that stupid. Thanks Mark

greetings,
A little tip: if you can lift up the entire rear of the truck, take both tires off, you can use one side as an example to re install the other. Also, you can take a picture of the brakes before removal.
Picture is worth a thousand words.

Oh.... yeah, do what Mv said!

I found out the hard way that having access to one side helped get the other side back together. There's a linkage iin there that can be a bit interesting and has a couple of options.

No fear Ray!

I had to do mine on my pickup last winter. It went something like this:

Take off wheel
Beat on rusted solid drum until it breaks.
Put wheel back on.
Load truck on trailer with no brakes.
Dump in mechanics parking lot.
Write check 2 days later.
