My DRLs are on a switch (usually off). for 2nd gen's, the switch is mounted at the end of the turn signal switch. Twist the end and the DRLs will be off/on

If you have a 98, then that's a 3rd gen not a 2nd unless I'm missing something here. As far as I know, DRLs didn't come on 4 Runners 'til '00. I think maybe Canada had them sooner???

The 3rd Gens have the auto headlamp off feature if you leave the lights on, they turn off when you open the door and the engine is off. Kind of a psuedo-DRL setup. Do your dash lights go on & off and the clock dim when the DRL's come on?

Canadian cars have been required to have DRL's since 1990.

The 2nd gen comment was my attempt at a joke, The switch I was refering to was the headlight switch . As far as my rig goes, the previous owner had DRL's installed with a switch so they can be disabled.
When the DRL's come on the dash lights do not come on and the clock does not dim.

I had a 2nd gen for a time, check the sig
