Compartment in the cargo area?

Just got my 02 SR5 last friday and was looking around it last night and saw there was a couple of straps in the compartment that looks like there should be something attached there. Anyone know whats supposed to be there?

Thanks
Craig

They are just to tie down cargo and keep it from sliding around back there.

Not the tie downs, I am talking about the little compartment on the passengers side of the back cargo area. It looks like the tool bag would be there or something. Sorry I was not very clear with my question.

Thanks

They are to hold a folding emergency reflective triangle thingy, but I don't think North American vehicles came with one. Standard issue on European vehicles.
I find them very useful to hold a small compressor or recovery strap.

x2. That's what it was designed for.

However, since I don't have this emergency kit, I filled my compartment w/ a tow strap, jumper cables, flares, and an assortment of small tools and a first aid kit.

How on earth did you get all that in that little spot? All I can seem to cram in there is a roll of toilet paper and my hitch?

, it's a tight fit, but it all manages to squeeze in there. To be honest, just yesterday, I pulled the first aid kit out (to stock it up) and replaced it w/ 2 small bags of camping food (the kind you just add water too) for the time being.

Here's a photo of my cargo comp. as we speak:

Description of items:

1. jumper cables
2. 30ft tow strap w/ hooks on both ends (under cables)
3. a couple of flares (red box)
4. 2 bags of camping food (great for when you need something quick)
5. tow hitch cover
6. pliers, utility knife, a couple a srewdrivers and some matches (not pictured, b/c they are behind the cables)
7. Not there now, but usually a small first aid kit resides on top of the flares

Just goes to show you, you can get a lot in that small compartment
