Sometime in the near future I hope to be lifting my truck. I was wondering if you had any recomendations on where to buy or where to get the work done (doing it myself is not really an option). It doesn't really matter if it in Denver or up north just Let me know.

Hi... fellow Coloradan here. There's a place called Slee Offroad that specializes in Land Cruiser lifts but I'm sure they deal with other Toyota 4x4's. I used to go to CSU and Fort Collins 4x4 up on North College just north of Old Town was pretty good.

 

Yeah, I was going to go check them out but just haven't had the chance yet. Since you used to live up here do you know of any good spots to wheel? Nothing real extreme, something for someone who hasn't really ever been out before. I just got my truck so I haven't had a chance to check anything out.

 

if you're up for a small trip to longmont (hygene to be exact), there's a cool place you can go to. it's called jacques 4x4. my guess is that it's fairly new, i don't remember it being there last year, and the shop is really clean. i've only been there for putting in my AALs, so i don't know how good of a job they do on harder work, but they seemed like nice guys and their hourly rate was significantly lower than all the other shops in the area.

I would avoid Fort Collins 4x4. If you have bolt on stuff and a garage, I would be happy to help.

Slee has a couple of good techs. They work on all Toy stuff and do good work.

I have done a ton of business with ORS. They do good work too. If you head down there, tell Mike that fat guy from Wisconsin sent you.[/Cheese]

 

Looks like I'll definitally have to check out ORS. I would love to get some help installing stuff but I'm currently living in an apartment and don't have any sort of garage to work on stuff. I'd like to get together w/ some of the Ft Collins guys sometime, maybe a few

What are you looking to install?

 

You know, I'm not really sure what I want to install. I'm very new to the whole 4-wheeling thing so I think I just want to gather some information first. That is unless you have any suggestions.

They are good to deal with and professional.
They helped me a lot with arranging all the work, to minimalize impact
on my schedule - I live in Kansas City area and was vacationing in Colo at the time.

AOR has a reputation, it varies depending on who you tak to.

Front Range sells parts and does not do installs.

ORS sells their stuff and other people's, same with Slee. Both of those places also do install work.

 

I got my engine harness adapter for my engine swap from ORS. It took a little longer then they thought it would because they had to locae the plugs, but once the got them they put it together and got it to me. It was well put together and did what it was supposed to.

I am surprised that Cheese (Flygtenstein) did not just volunteer our house for the install. It is his home away from home. If you get the parts we can get the work done for a minimal beer charge. I have done the lift in the past and cheese has been around plenty of them as well. Shoot one of us an e-mail when you get close and we could set up a date if you are interested.

As for FtCollins 4x4 they are fair for buying bolt on stuff and doing repairs but I would not have them do it on my truck.

 

Cool, I'll definitally have to hit you guys up. It may not be a while now since it all depends upon when I can sell my other car. In the mean time I'll just have to keep looking around.
