Clunky Breaks

Clunky Breaks
I just changed the front breaks on my '01 Prerunner todaty. After test driving it, I started to hear a clunking noise from them. The noise comes when you first apply pressure and only when the the truck is in motion (the speed doesnt matter). I dont remember this noise when replacing the breask on my old 4runner. Any Suggestions?

It is a week later and the truck is still making the same noise. I made sure that everything was installed again and it is. The only part I lubed was the space between the shims and pistons. The only weird thing is that the tacoma pads did not fit my truck. I had to exchange them for 4runner ones. the only difference is the position of the metal studs that detect when you need the replace the breaks. Any other opinions?

(ok, ill be the first one to say it)
it's brakes, not breaks
have you greased the driveshaft lately? also, try searching the phrase "brake clunk". theres about 2 pages of threads and various causes

Are the pads loose when they in the calipers? If they are then some retaining hardware is missing, or you have the incorrect pads.
There should be no grease between the shims and the pistons. Only where the calipers slide . Use antiseize.
