First post here, thanks in advance for all of the information here.

I have the rear sag on my '94 Runner, and I'm looking to do a suspension lift on it.

I decided to go with a set of Downey HD coils in the rear and a set of 4 Bilstein shocks all the way around.

If anyone is in the Charlotte, NC area, can you let me know of a shop that handles this type of work, and is good at it?

Also, do I need to buy the parts myself and bring them in, or do these shops order them for you?

there really isn't one. There is tarheel 4x4. They are overpriced and last I heard weren't fond of yotas. I think they are on Tryon heading out of downtown opposite side of 77. There is also 4Wheel Parts on South Blvd. Good luck...

 

You might want to post the same question at the North Carolina 4x4 Forum . I believe there are a few guys from Charlotte that post there.

Dont go to Tarheel, they are widely known for ripping people off. 4wheelparts are good people, but again their service center is a rip-off (they wanted $600+ for spacer installation on my 4runner).

There is Carolina Rock Shop (carolinarockshop.com) in Concord great guy(s) started from the ground up. not to many years ago. Once again is partial to Jeeps and I believe his prices are starting to rise, because his demand is great now. But he will do the work.

Your best bet is to call smaller shops, you'll eventually find someone to help you out.

 

If you feel like driving to Badin Lake, there is Galloways 4wd Center in New London. I've never delt with them, but I have emailed them a few times.

Tarheel wanted to use OME parts, but did offer a decent rate $140 for labor.

4WheelParts is going to get back to me on whether or not, they will do the install using customer parts.

Auto Solutions, quoted me $140 as well, and stated they were familiar with the Downey/Bilstein setup on 4Runners. So, I will probably go with them.

I live in the University area near Concord, so I'm still going to check out Carolina Rock Shop.

perhaps you could try to install everything yourself? if you need any help, i would be up for it. i installed spacers on the rear of my rig a couple weeks ago. so maybe i could be of assistance

 

I appreciate the offer, but I don't have tool one, and I still needed to get some driveline work done on the ujoints. I ended up going to the Auto Solutions shop in Charlotte, great shop.
