Question 3.Slow: Who's Headgasket Has Blown Twice?

This is prompted by hearing about people blowing headgaskets more than once. I was just wondering how many of you have had the headgasket on the 3.slow blow twice. I'm just trying to get an idea of how much time I have until mine reaches that uncertain stage.

Let us know what happened; like miles, when the last headgasket was done, etc.

Thanks

replaced twice

My headgasket blew in my1992 4x4 pickup V6 X-cab at 42,000 miles and was replaced under warrenty in 1995 with a "stapeled gasket" prior to toyota determining that the issue was with the manufacter and recalled my truck for a second gasket in 1998 with 95,000 miles. I sold it last month with 165,000 miles and going strong. No mo 3 slo! 3.4 is soooo nice

Funny thing, I never had a blown headgasket on my old '89 4Runner (1st gen.) with 3.0 V6 and mild suspension mod. (for 33" tires). It was running so strong like new for 265K miles until I traded it for new '98 4Runner.

31K ('95) - HG replaced due to service campaign
51K ('97)- HG blew; dealer replaced HG and engine block under service bulletin
109K ('03) - HG blew again; dealer would not assume costs, replaced at a cost of ~1500 out of pocket.... arrrggg

if you count the original HG, i've had 4 headgaskets on my truck.... i'm at ~120K now.....

for your reference i'm running a '93 V6 4X4 A/T all stock

Mine firstblew at 35K and was done under the campaign and now at 108K miles. It sucks since this was my DD and I have to drive my dads' 91 Honda Accord Stationwagon.
