98 Toyota 4 Runner 4 cylinder

Those are codes for a miss. P0300 is random general miss, P0301 is cylinder #1 miss, P0304 is cylinder #4 miss.
I would start with the standard tube up items, spark plugs, fuel and air filter, wires, and test coils. The V6s are having age related problems with fuel injectors, I’m nit sure if the 4s are going to as well.

Thank you, I put new spark plug wires and spark plugs and air filter last summer, it ran good for awhile then the radiator started leaking at the top and spraying water right on the coils, I bought new plugs and wires but haven’t put them in yet. I do not know how to check the coils.

This is the link to the V6 diagnostic for ignition coils, Im on my phone so digging for the 4cyl version is cumbersome.

I will assume you have the dual coil pack set up (each coil is for 2 cylinders). There are 3 different ignition set ups for the 3rz.
Using a multi meter, I tested the secondary coil resistance by unplugging the harness from the coils, as well as the spark plug wires, and sticking the leads in the positive/neg terminals- while the engine was cold.
It should read 9.0-15.4k-ohms. Someone please correct that if the ohms is not correct. (Edit: checked my Haynes manual)
Also, i had one injector start to go bad (@200k) and it caused a misfire code as well. Checking your injectors for steady pulse while the engine is running might be a good idea.
