I you are replacing one factory radio with another factory radio, then just unplug rear connector and antenna and plug back into the new radio.

Back in '99, I yanked the radio/cassette about ten minutes after I got the truck home. I installed it in one of my kid's cars that only had a radio. Toyota sells something the parts guy called a 'theft kit', for when somebody robs the stereo H/U and takes the plug and wires with it. It is the plug that goes into the radio and loose wires you can match to the truck you are putting it into. I doubt anybody besides Toyota sells this. I don't know if it is still available.

scosche makes the harnesses... http://www.scosche.com/car-audio/product/683

TA02RB

anyways.. most toyota radios are electrically interchangeable from 87-08... just remember to unplug the offboard amp if the radio coming out has one... usually only found on double din units...

I have the stock radio with all the plugs from my 99 4runner... It has the CD player and radio and all the plugs/amp and such.

Thank you both for the reply.

I purchased Scosche #TA02B from ebay and it does not fit. I will check out their website as you note #TA02RB. May send a photo to Scosche as well.

I really appreciate everyones help! Im restoring a 1990 Toyota 4x4 V6 with 80K original miles. (it was my dads before he passed away) CA car with no rust. Great little truck with factory AC. The only modification it has is an aftermarket stereo. I like the factory look. Bret

If you want the plugs that go into the RADIO those kits are useless. They plug into the truck harness and the wires connect to the harness that comes with an after market H/U.

The Durk - your right, I need the plugs that plug into the back of the radio. I see from your earlier post, Toyota is the only source. Ill check into it. If it is not available, I may have to go with an aftermarket stereo. Thanks.

You could also look on the classifieds on here to see if someone is parting out a 3rd gen pickup, or hit up a junkyard. I doubt anyone would charge you much for that part.

TA02B is the adapter harness that plugs into the factory radio harness so you can splice your aftermarket harness in...

TA02RB is the replacements for the toyota harness... this works... i've tried it.. plugs right into the back of a toyota radio...
