4x2 Rear to SOA

ok, i am seriously contemplating making the rear of my truck SOA, as the 4x2s had an SUA setup....

i know i will need spring perches welded on, new shock mounts, ubolts, spring plates....

what issues will i run into as far as the brake system? i already have extended brake lines... i dont see how the soa conversion would interfere with anything but i might also somewhat redesign the current brake line setup so they cant accidentally drag on anything or make a custom skidplate for the brakeline.....

i might end up adding some custom realignment shims after the soa, as my truck is lifted 2" above stock now and and soa will lift it anotehr 3-4" i beleive and the 4x2 was never meant to see a angle like that....

What are you going to do up front? BJ Spacers?

The only issue aside from the obvious fab work is possible vibration which you've addressed with the shims. Maybe take a look 2WD vs 4WD driveshafts and see if they are the same. You could be OK if they are.

Make sure to compensate the pinion angle before welding on the new perches.

i agree, that's much better than using shims! just figure out the correct angle and weld your perches accordingly.
