I have 2 sets of larger injectors .. not positive on the CC's yet (more research) I plan on intercooling , twin oil ports , pressure reg , boos controller , BOV , air temp sensor . meth , wide band , and stand alone (not sure which one yet ?)

I'm just not sure on the turbos ? I'm thinkin with the control I should have , they will be ok

I'm not going to rebuild the engine , or do stronger internals yet .. just want to do this to start .
Well if you want me to lay out a game plan for a turbo setup then it would be something like this:

Stick to a single turbo, there is really no reason for twins except for a balanced look in the engine bay but it is way harder to fit then a single. Performance wise they will be basically identical, with the twins if anything being worse at these power levels.

For turbo sizes, like I said before a ~52mm turbo would be a good single turbo size for a stock block, something like an S252 would easily make ~400whp and up to 500whp if pushed. More then enough for a stock block and trans.

If you went twins then you would need to go much smaller, almost impossible to find good options that small. Which is why I say don't bother.

The HX35 is way larger then you need and WAY too big for a twin setup. I would stick to either ebay turbos (they are surprisingly good now days if you get the right ones) or to brand name gas turbos for now.

If you will be going standalone then get some larger injectors for sure, I would start off with something around ~550cc minimum. 800cc would be better as it would allow you to run E85 later if you could. The 440cc you have now will work, and it is not too hard to change injector size on a standalone, so you could get running with those and go from there.

Intercooling is great, don't overthink it. Larger it better, single pass is better, bar and plate is batter.

For the boost controller, let the ECU handle it as all modern standalones have this feature.

Skip the BOV, it is unneeded and only reduces performance. I can give you a long thread to read with the details if you want.

Meth is great, I recommend a kit with a failsafe so you can really put the boost to it without worry. Coolingmist and AEM both offer options.

Wideband, anything will work, some standalones come with built in wideband controllers.

Now for the ECU there are tons of options. A few of my top picks are ECUmaster, Vipec, Haltech, ProEFI. Any of them will more then handle what you want.

Just compare features and price and see what works for you.

With the stock internals I would plan on around ~400whp to start with and possibly taking it a bit higher after you see how it like that. I have a feeling you will need intake manifold and most likely cams to move much past that safely though.

For the turbo, I would honestly use an ebay turbo to start out with, they are so cheap it is an easy to to test everything and get an idea of how it is all going to work. Then you can get a nice brand name turbo in the size you want after you see what the results are. Or just keep running the ebay turbos, they really are pretty good now days, just do some searching for the good brands/sellers.

Stick to vband turbos as much as possible, just makes things simpler.

thanks Ace , I'm pretty set on the twins at this point .. and I was thinking the HX35's would be to big ... I have a buddy with an import wrecking yard , so I think I'm going to try something smaller , that will spool sooner . maybe something like the Subaru WRX turbo .. or something similar
I going to do some more research on this . Thanks

I would REALLY think twice before doing twins unless you will be going for 500whp+. Under that and it is almost impossible to match the performance of a single turbo due to the fact there are no good turbo options small enough under that.

For twins you would be looking for ~250whp turbos which is A: smaller then even most factory turbos and B: factory turbos suck. A nice billet modern turbo will blow them out of the water, that’s why guys upgrade stock turbos with billet wheels and the like to improve them.

Twins don’t even start to match a single turbo setup IMO until you are in the ~700whp++ range, even that will be running the smallest EFR you can get and will be hard pressed to match a 6266 for performance.

Twins have their place but it is not on a small power build for sure. Even the big 2000hp drag cars are running singles now days, they just work better.

I will be having very limited internet access for the next while, and it is unknown how or if I will be able to get on here. So if anyone has any questions for me, now is the time to ask before tomorrow morning.

I am doing the 3.4 swap in my 95 pickup, but want to rebuild my trans mission and beef it up.. what is a good rebuild kit for my trans that will work with the 3.4 and turbo?
