In the mean time, why would the manifolds & downpipe work on the Taco but not the 4Runner? Aren't the engine bays of the two vehicles the same?

The people who can definitively answer this question are the dudes at LCE Performance in Arizona. They KNOW Yota's. I'd call them. Check out LCE Performance at LCEperformance.com Let us know the answer as I have always wondered this.

So I just got off the phone with Ace from CXRacing. He seems to be the only one there who knows what's going on. He seemed confident that the manifolds and crossover pipe should fit without issue. He did say he wasn't sure if the downpipe would tie into the stock exhaust piping, which is fine with me. I'll be ordering as soon as they get them back in stock.

Makes sense and a completely workable issue.

Just purchased the manifolds a few minutes ago. Probably won't have time to install until after the new year.

Thats a heck of a deal. They sell the intercoooler separate or build your own from a universal kit off ebay (my personal choice).

Get yourself a nice turbo (Screw garret, overpriced and under preforming turbos). PTE makes some nice turbos for a reasonable price or get yourself a nice high end turbo.

I like that the downpipe uses a v-band, thats real nice.

Really gonna have to consider this, it does offer some advantages over my planned setup of mounting the turbo to the header outlet.

I've been looking into this kit so I could install it in to my truck as well. But I wanted to know if I could install it and maybe push 8 to 10 pounds of boost safely without having to forge pistons and all the other costly bits of work that others do when they turbo charge their cars

Heh, it's a PITA to install, but it's good quality manifolds and DP. You can run around 15psi on stock motor. Need rods after that.
