Well after almost a year, I decided to take the guady window tinting off. It was terribly scratched and I couldn't see my mirrors. I got one done and it started snowing. Pics to follow soon.

Finally!! we figured out what the heck was wrong with my motor. I got it to the yard yesterday, they pulled head, no blown head gaskes. The head was cracked in between the valves on cylinders 2 and 4. They replaced the head, head gasket, adjusted the valves and timed it all for free. It took all day but they got it done. It runs soo much better now.
I finally got the money scrounged up for the Spartan locker. I will order it, hopefully, after Monday. But Im not sure, I have to take care of my old man. He suffered a heart attack last night and is in the hospital. So needless to say the truck might take a spot on the back burner for some time.

I greatly appreciate it man. It sounds like they want to do a 5 way bypass on thursday sometime. But the doc did say that his chances of making it are great. It was just a mild one, still not good but not terribly devastating.

Well given that I can't do much for the old man except for support. I get bored up here on the mountain. So I started makin a Hi Lift mount thatll go on my tail gate.
I started with this rusty piece of 2" channel I had layin around

Then proceeded to cut it up with the chop saw

Then pilot holes with the drill press.

I still have yet to find some big diameter bolts and a way to tighten it down. I was thinking some wing nuts but im not sure thatll work the way I want. I also have a third section thatll go in the middle for a pad lock.

Well I changed my design a little bit. Instead of goin across the tail gate i am gonna go vertical behind the cab.
I got the pieces blasted in the cabinet and welded togehter. Now all I have to do is weld it up to the bed and install the jack.

I will prolly end up grinding it all smooth and blast one more time.

Thanks bro. The nurse said that he is acting like he's on 3rd day recovery and this is only his first day. It all seems to going pretty good.

Thanks for all of the support guys. I really appreciate it.

Alright fellas, I got an update on that mount. I got it finished up and welded on.
Welds grounded and blasted again

Mounting bolt welded on

Welded to the bed

Good welds (for me anyway)

And the finished product

That is my old mans 85. Its been a project ever since we blew the motor last January. We put another motor from APR Auto Care in it and it ended up bein very screwed up. I think the block is warped, it creates excessive pressure in the cooling system causing blown head gaskets. We are thinking about stuffing a 302 small block ford in it using the NWOR bellhousing adapter.
The next project I am gonna tackle is a spool for the rear. I have decided spool because money is tight and with heightned gas prices, I can't afford a locker right now. Also a header and exhaust. Im prolly gonna ditch the cat and put a glass pack on it.
