Well I was thinking about getting rid of it but now I'm looking at putting a turbo on the 7 and a 44 front and having as more of a daily driver. Then getting a second gen 4runner for the big build with the built up Lexus and one ton running gear

Nice truck. I like your style, i'm the same... fix it as it breaks and cruise it every day. My stock 88 has saved me money and has never let me down... even the original r12 AC still blows cold.

havent been here in awhile... doesnt really look like there has been much traffic anyways. things are going to start escalating quickly though so ill give every one a quick up to date. went to the puyallup swap meet and was able to score a dual case setup for 500 that i threw in, found a trail gear dual case cross member, and a air hose reel. got all of that in and going. was also able to get a york air compressor mounted, that was a first for a 7m lol now i have a wagoneer dana 44 sitting on the back patio. now i just have to find a cheby 44 cut it down, turn the knuckles and throw the waggy shafts in and wheel it.

the goal is to run elockers front and rear on it. im thinking toy elocker rear and eaton elocker front. ive also been doing my research on leaf spring sliders... has anyone on here heard bout them or got any tech info on how they work??? any help would be awesome.

well heres some pics since every one loves them.

I've heard the sliders and seen a couple of pics, try searching them on pirate4x4. I've also been told the sliders have been used for years in dirt track cars

Yea that's where I've mostly been seeing them used is on dirt track cars or drag cars... pirate has helped some but not many people have used them so haven't found much tech on them

They are pretty cool I know each slider(1 per spring) has to track parallel of each other that each house a roller bearing the a bolt goes through, so when the spring flattens or arcs the bolt and bearings slide forward or back words on the track.

If one was to use the sliders they would have to make sure rocks or mud doesn't get stuck in the track which could bind the bearings up, but the do have advantages, since the sliders would be mounted on the straight part of a yoga frame, when the springs flex they would be just pushing or pulling the rear eyelet meaning no caster change or pinion angle change.

I was seeing that problem a little bit... I could get them with a sealed bearing or plastic but either way any debris will get in there and could them up. People I've been talking to also seem to think they will be noisy... not really sure though.

Thanks for your help! Glad someone knows about them

I was also thinking Derby could get stuck in the track preventing the bearings from rolling. As for the noise since you are using bearings which would allow the spring to move easier then compared to a shackle bolted tightly to a bushing, so in theory when driving down the road the springs would be able to flex more with uneven or bumpy roads which would have the bearings constantly rolling back and forth. But most bearings now a days are pretty quite and plus if you are doing a SAS you'll be putting big tires on which make a lot of road noise

Nice work, I really like the half doors, can't wait to see them when they're finished!

I need to build a rear bumper/tire carrier too, look forward to seeing your design!
