the big finish

wow man. this is a great thread.

i don't know how i hadn't seen it before today, but i just read all 7 pages. i feel like i just read an epic novel, but about toyotas and with awesome pics.

really impressive work here. i daydream of doing a strip down rebuild of my own truck like this. i know it will never happen, but it is cool to see it happening here.

on page 6, i thought the thread may show completion, but i see that you're probably in progress with paint as i type this. so i will stay tuned for the exciting final chapter!

thanx for creating such a well documented thread, and of course, kudos for some stellar restoration/customization work.

Thanks Tj, The thread will go on way past paint because of the tacoma interior i will be making the pillers fit and retrofitting the hard board headliner from the tacoma plus leather and making doorpannels and a pretty crazy stereo and bed build.

So heres the next chapter for you guys

Primed and ready to be jammed tomorrow and blocked. I cant tell you guys how exited i am to see the body this close to color.

you're swapping the Apillar trim and the headliner too? can't you just spray to color match (or contrast) the trims that fit the early cab so you don't have to mod the Taco stuff?

this is some custom rebuild man. Chip Foose got nothin' on ya.

I really did like the old style headliner and with the new dash the A piller has a gap so im going to mold it to fit in tighter to the dash and wrap it. Im also going to add the grab handle in the A piller like the tacoma had. Id like to find the 01+ stlye where it was molded in but i think im going to wind up with the older style because i want to get it done lol. Its going to be a mix of the stock piece and the tacoma piece because the older tacoma trim ran along the roof and went to the B piller.

Chip Foose does way better bodywork and paint then i do lol

I DO like the Oh handle on the A pillar myself. much more helpful when getting in a lifted truck.

you definitely got the vision clear in your mind, man; and that's how you make it happen. best wishes on no snags to the finish.

Ok long night and i didnt get the whole thing shot due to the seam sealer on the bed not being dry enough to clean up on one section of the bed. I can knock it out in about 20 minutes tomorrow....I left it in front of the heater so im sure it will be dry.

My painting team.(yes i was high on paint fumes when i took this)

Bed today while the people are putting carpet and hard wood in the house.

more pics tonight.

I have been meaning to ask an opinion.

I have the Carbon TRD badges from the supercharged sticker pack. I wont use the supercharged ones but what do you guys think about the tiny one under the toyota logo on the B piller? My other thought is to do the TRD logo on the bed to brake it up a bit. White paint, Chrome trim, Polished wheels and mild Armor in black is pretty simple and on that bobbed section it might show it off a little. Id use OEM stickers in either red, black and white or the gray, black ones. I dont know if its Ricey when all i will have is TRD wires,Fluid caps, Locker....its a 4cylinder tacoma almost lol

Im high gotta get off the interwebzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
