Pre wrapping of it all...Had to get it all mounted and make sure wit was going to work. Looks like tons of room with out the speaker pods now and they sound better. I added a little weight to the door and it has that solid sound when you close it now.

I havent done too much modding but i have wheeled it a little and have drivin it some. Im gathering parts and stuff for the winter redo. heres some random pics of the truck for now.

OH i forgot!!! I got rearended by a ford econoline van. The van is totaled and my hitch killed his dash. this is the damage.

I got it muddy for the 2nd time...never again.

And i went through hell for a radiator.... no pics... And i DID put a new mod in.
My Clifford died and had my buddys shop put this in.

Remote start and keyless, GPS tracking was a different thing but its in the truck with this one too. Will update again once new stuff comes up or new wheeling pics.

Thanks! i should have some pics from wheeling this weekend. Were going out for my birthday(early). When i get back im pulling it off the road to finish up and fix some body work and paint stuff. Once the FJ motor stuff sells im going to have the interior fully finished and start another project.

Well the list for this project is, Paint again and fix a few things in the bay. Cut frame plates the length of the frame, Build support under the truck so it stops trying to crack the frame, Interior wrapped in black leather, Stereo overhaul cause i let the magic smoke out of the subs, finish mounting the sutff in the bed and getting it lined and painted....Pretty much go over the truck to make it perfect.

My next project was going to be build a buggy so i could retire this thing but im finding $70,000 buggys for sale for 16,000 or so. I may hold out and buy one if i go that route or i may just wait and put more time and money in to the tow rig camper and trailer. I also wouldnt mind dressing up my daily a little now Always wanted to mod it but th truck comes first.

FJ cruiser steering wheel with radio control. and tippy gauge thing.

NIIIIICE. Does it require mods to fit on an 88 pickup?? I want one! I'd love the dash too but that has to be serious modding to get it to fit. Love it all man!

I'm thinking about doing a very similar mod to my 2000 Toyota 4Runner. Wanna know how complicated the radio controls are to integrate into a harness not built for that, etc. Do it!

The tippy gauge you can get in the correct style to add in your dash. They have 2 wires for the light. Tippy gauge and altimiter i think it is. The FJ one is a pain. Its a ton of wires and im still trying to get to the harness for it. We have it figured out but i have to use the AC amplifier from the fj and run it standalone for the outside temp sensor. Not worth it if id have to say do it or dont. Im kinda stuck cause i cut a big hole in the dash. oh well, Guess it will be cool when i finish it this month.

The steering wheel may not work on your coulmn. I forget if i got it to fit the old column when i was messing around. you will need the airbag clock spring and wiring connectors from the stereo end and the airbag end.

The wheel is easy. should go right on your rig. You need the clock spring as listed above. Also the harness OR pig tails from both ends. I found my stereo was too old to do it so you have to get the adapter to run an aftermarket stereo OR a stock toyota radio that the plug goes in..I have an FJammer if you want that route.

The wheel is cool. I like that. Cant wait on my stereo to get in. We have an FJ so i use it all the time and in the truck i forget its not hooked up yet and get angry my radio wont turn up or down. lol

I don't even think my 88 has an airbag... Did you get that wheel from a junkyard? I'm gonna definitely go looking on monday. Your dash and wheel would be a dream come true for my truck. I'm jealous of how much stuff you know how to do!

Im 99.9% sure your 88 doesn't I picked up a full rolled FJ for parts. I grabbed it and all the FJ bits for my rig, Replaced some that were nicer on the one i got then on our 08 and sold most of it..Still selling stuff...I don tjust know how to do it..Most of it im learning as i go. The dash i had never done and few had so it wasa make it work kinda deal. Same with everything else. I fell in to a ask for help rut for a while and it sucked...I just went back to figure it out on my own.
