I picked up a set of DNJ RINGS. got it from a shop my dad order all his parts for years when he was still doing mechanic work. They are chrome rings. I think its a reboxed NRP rings. Same packaging just different cover. I'll take a dive and make them seat

Haha so yea ordered a set of crank and rod bearing so everytging is on hold again for a couple of day. This rebuild is not going smooth at all!! Hahaha and its hot here too. No ac in the garage!! Sure you didn't just mix the caps up? You labeled them? Torqued the first of the 5 down and checked for ease of turning/then so forth?

Caps were right 1-5. I put the old crank into the new block. Souldnt make a difference? Don't see why not. Hahaha the old crank was nice and quiet and have no clue what the donor crank's condition is.

if your using the old crank in the new block. you need to use the correct bearings. if you dont know the right ones than you need to plastigage to figure out what size bearings to use

Yea. The old crank is .25mm (.010") so I'm guessing is the old bearings are probably use to or seated to the crank's surface. Mixing then up might have affect the micro groves? Haha. Just a thought. That causes the crank to not turn freely. Of what do you guys think? Should the crank turn even with all bearing being mixed?

You just HAVE to order bearings to the grind... 10/10, 20/30, WHATEVER, lol. Mixing up the 'CAPS' is where I had trouble... Found the right order by pictures again and voila! Shouldn't matter that much, since I had them bore/honed micrometers to rounded again.. But it did, especially on the main caps. My crank was a 10/10 grind.... so ordered Sankei OEM Old/New stock off ebay... Got the caps right and it was like warm butter and a knife from there on out. Make sure you lube em up really well. Did the shop label the caps as they took them out? Because, it wouldn't matter, but like mine, I had a new block AND crank from same block.... So with minimal rounding of them on the machine(the rod caps and rod journals) it didn't change enough to be a problem.... but with the main caps, they were a lot harder to bore/hone without removing more and then needing even another step up in bearing size(grinding off the crank surface AND opening up the cap/journal surface changes things, doubly, make sense?)

Sorry, I'm rambling, ... explain EXACTLY what they did to the block, journals, crank, k? (A new block was used with your existing crank, right?)

Alright guys and girls!!! Remember when i had that crank problem couple of messages ago hahaha i found the problem. I have two blocks, using the old crank in new block, used current main brarings, crank did not want to turn! So i bought a set of new bearing. Main, rod and trust. I slapped on the new main and what do you know, same problem!!!!! My head was exploding at that moment.

So i thought about it. Maybe im using the wrong main cap from the old block. Put the other set of main cap on and what do you know!?!?!? It works. Turns as smooth as butter haha

Just thought i should share the story. O yea gonna go and check out the smitty xrc8 tomorrow. So excised!!!!

Hey toyo, did they have to order your winch or did they have it in stock?

Hmmm, 'switch the caps', ...get outta heeeeeeeeere!! hahaha. No, but you definitely wanna keep the same caps and crank together.... GREAT news! OH< btw, .... when you said, "MY head was exploding!".... HOLY CRAPOLI, that freaked me out for a second, man! lol. Not that I'd rather your ACTUAL head explode... but yeah, glad to hear the Toy Head is good to go! lol.
