Alright I stopped by my parents house to see how the truck is turning out. O yea I forgot to say since I don't have that much time I let my dad put the engine back in. So I went over and it looked pretty good. Stayed there for a while and head back I went back after work and helped him finish it off turns out he popped his heater hose so he used mined haha replaced that and he also took my battery cause his die. But we jumped it really quick and got it running. "the sweet sound of the engine" click click click.. Hahaha I looked over and smoke was coming out crazy out back! NO!!! Turned off the engine and adjusted the timing, it was too retard. Fired it up again and wonderful! Nomore smoke click is gone hehe sounds better than the first time. Didn't test drive it yet don't have a clamp for the heater hose yet
let's see how these DNJ (NRP) rings holds up
Almost there

I drove the truck home today and notice a slip on the clutch! Gosh! But it was driving good other than that. Drive it about 15 miles back home. It felt good. Got home parked it and saw a leak on the gear box
hopefully just a loose clamp didn't really look at it, I was too tired. I'll check it out tomorrow

Sorry man! Well, now, .... gear box? Steering gear box? I know you said "clutch slipping"... but curious if you transitioned there into something else you noticed? Could the motor, when dropped in, have nicked or banged up one of the lines?(unless you're talking about the t-case or trans? lol.) When my input shaft seal on the trans was leaking, I had no slipping, but wanted to get to it asap..... SO I TORE THE MOTOR OUT! hahaha. JK, I was doing that anyhow, and wow, was that seal leaking gear oil BAD! It would have eventually destroyed my new clutch kit and was making a mess with that STANK gear oil! lol. Swapping in gear boxes was lots of fun, too
lol. (if it is the steering, grab a 2WD box... it's the SAME BOX and will have done about 1/2 the work, at most! I did, happy I did so... steering is like a hot knife through warm butter now!)

Ooooop haha sorry steering I meant haha. I think the line is too worn out. The power steering pump was never remove outside the truck just pushed aside. Maybe just sitting there for too long cause some breakage on the line but who knows. Still haven't checked it out yet. Haha. But I should Ge to it

apartment? OH BOY, yeah, been there, ....that can ruin a tenant/manager relationship for sure! "Get some clumping litter and Simple Green and CLEAN THAT UP, SON!" hahaha. Anyway, sorry bout the leak. I've dealt with this, maybe in a different 'cause', but nonetheless, steering can be a bear and a messy one. BTW, IF that hose decides to BUST.... you're talking about 1200# of pressure at times.... NOW you'd be talking 'MESS' in the 'catastrophic' realm, if it completely gave up.
1. Look on the back of the pump near the idle up vacuum port(if you have one on your year)... Mine began to leak after swapping it in and out 3 times for engine swaps.... THEN, when I replaced the starter, I HAD TO use teflon high temp/pressure thread sealant on that. I also used it on the tapered flange nut that goes in the side. When moving that out of the way, the pump, that line can turn and break loose that flange nut.... CHECK IT! HOPE it's not the box.... that SUCKS! But, even that is a one day doable job. The bleeding and flushing takes most of the time... Just hated the steering wheel alignment and all that.
ALSO, IF YOU GET A GEAR BOX..... GET ONE WITH THE PITMAN ATTACHED AND DO NOT REMOVE IT! Leave it where it's 'PRE-MARKED' already.
Let us know if you find the leak, ok? Rooting for ya, NOW KILL IT! (NOOOOOOO, not your Manager, Vang!) hehehe.

An update.....
Truck runs good (check)
Oil burnage (oil level haven't drop yet with 160 miles)
Clutch slips - I notice that it slips more when it a cold start. And doesnt slip as much when it warm. Doesn't seem to slip as much as before but maybe I just got use to it haha and only slip when I give it a good amount of throttle on low rpm. I took the on ramp going uphill on the highway and no slip neither...huh...
But other than that it runs nice jut a little stiff cause of the t-bar crank (I can use those BJ spacer Toyo) haha jk
Here's a quick pic I snap hehe

Roger, ... honestly? I KNOW you don't wanna hear this but, ..... did you have the Flywheel done? If so, great... If not, I would have. Also, if the clutch is in question/or the parts therein..... I would just get it over with and make it the LAST MECHANICAL THING THIS THING NEEDS FOR A LONG TIME! Ya know? One weekend is all you need to drop and replace clutch and re-button up.... IF you need it, of course. No pics of the disc or pressure plate while it was out?

hahahaha. NICE!
