i forgot. i wanna say around 30-50. it was kinda expensive but every time i see a used for sale, they got for like 20+ shipping. i just said screw it and went new. glad i did cuz i got to use to original one in the rear wiper arm housing (mod to fit)

those that wanna keep the original but want more lights, i would check and see about getting a new cover. it made a huge difference as my old one was starting to get dirty and kinda yellow. after i got the new one installed i didnt even need to do a LED conversion. plus the stock bulbs can be had locally if it goes out vs LED

Yeah, WOW, that's toyota for ya! haha... But hey, mine lasted 20 years before it broke off, lol. Thanks for the heads up. The second gen one I put in seems to work fine, so I'll see if I can't find a nice new cover from the dealer.... I would THINK that people might break them on occasion, taking them off to replace the bulb, etc... but it's not like Toyota to not make you buy the WHOLE THING, right? (Want a Fusible Link box? "Yeah, uhhhhhhhhm,....sorry, gotta buy the entire harness to get that, buddy... BEST LUCK AT THE YARDS! " hahaha.

The dome light looks exactly like the one in my 2nd Gen Camry (87-91). It's seemed pretty common for them to go out and the toggle switch breaking after 20 years. I had to rig a wire in mine also to get it to work. So on the camry board I started a little trend of swapping them out with Lexus ES250 dome lights, plug n play, a little bigger lenses for more light to come out, sturdier looking design, and better toggle switch. If you ever need to in the future, find one at the yard and check it out, looks like it might work for the 1st gen 4runners too.

Grego.... Is it a bigger MM festoon in that lexus dome? That's a good idea.

My 2nd Gen 4Runner Dome light mod is REALLY great compared to the original one(like your brokeded one, I think... with the handle is a separate piece that just breaks off? hahaha)

I want to find a 34+ MM festoon dome kit...... which will work just FINE with an LED... Wouldn't use it on my ceiling with a 40MM festoon... cuz it would MELT MY LINER! lol. Those things get HOT AS HELL! BUT, .... with the 40MM festoon, you have SO MANY MORE OPTIONS of 360* Range LED Festoons and such.... I WOULD LOVE to do that upgrade.... You got me thinkin, homie! lol.

Mark, I don't think so. I remember just moving my LED bulb from the original to the lexus one. These LED's are pretty bright. You might want to try putting a piece of aluminum foil or something reflective tape behind the bulb to get a little more shine...forgot who told me that, never tried it though.

Actually,..... my dome is fine now.. Plenty bright.. BUT, if I can find a dome in LED that's gonna give me as wide a range and full span of bright light... with all that less draw going on? I'M ON IT! lol.. Plus, I want to add LED's in the rear for sure... as those could be left on all night and not cause drama. Funny, I've had this Duralast Gold battery for 5 YEARS.... never given me a single problem... And I can still, like the other day, leave the map lights on all night.... VROOOM, first turn of the key in the morn! LOVE when moderately cheapo choices I wouldn't have made had I known better WORK OUT WELL!

I know the LED's can be bright, Grego.. but I'm just saying, .. the 36MM and 40MM festoons have WAY more options, including 360 range.... In which case I'd think about the aluminum.... But as it is, the 30mm festoons don't offer that 360(lights all the way around I mean) type set up... They don't even offer 90*degree angled LED High Fluxers... Like, one pointing toward the front seats and the other toward the rear. I can see why, they don't have enough room to work with for the other hardware needed, I get it. Just sayin, ya know? If I went to a 40MM dome light from a full size truck, etc.... It wouldn't MATTER on the 'it's too hot' factor... cuz it would be LED, right?

Alright turns out there was plans i didnt know about till the last sec this weekend. But i didnt go to work today so there was a little time on my hands. Plan was to cut some bumper brackets and weld everything up so the winch can be use. Started cutting the sheet metal and realized how hot it was haha. Danm that torch! So here we go.

Took off the stock bumper

Dont have the during pics but it got really hot in the garage then my buddy came over and we went to the junkyard. O yea i got too lazy to put the bumper back on so i threw on the light bar i had sitting in the backyard without the bumper haha

Another one. Got a new app on my phone and started messing with the photo haha
