so my exhaust broke today about 2in above where it broke before. no pictures this time because it went the same way as last.

grind edges clean. tack pieces back together, fully weld, cut metal strap, drill holes in strap, clean pipe where strap will go, tack, hammer, tack, hammer and so on. now it is all fixed. afte some thinking i think the both broke after being in 3rd gear doing 70-80, dont think it likes tht. o well. i dont think ima change my driving so tht just means ima get better and better at fixing my exhaust.

and to all tht are reading i dont leave it in 3rd all the time, just us 3rd to get up to speed on the free way when im in a rush then go to 5th. most of the time i am in 5th by 40-45 mph

I looked up the codes and seems like you know what they are. Thermo sensor TPS, and AC switch. Probably just one setting the rest off.

How the new job going? It helps with the funds side of thigs but cuts into the time side. Seems like a guy cant get a break.lol

yea we looked them up yesterday and found tht it looks like one of my temp sensors tht go in the front of the lower intake is broken and is able to wiggle, just checked today and i have a spare so when i get the chance i will fix it.

the new job is good, cant wait till ive got a couple pay checks under my belt to maybe buy some things for the trucks. im hopefully spending this weekend getting all the little things done before i can do the SAS on the scav.

as for the time and money thing i once heard a qoute

"you have all the time in the world, and no money.
or all the money in the worl and no time"

Glad to see you got it fixed. How did you go about finding out that sensor was the problem? Did you break it when messing with your exhaust or just happen to notice it?

I just like to know if there was some sign to look for if you hadnt seen it broke.

well afte my exhaust broke i got all 3 of the codes, so i thought they were related until i looked them up and found they werent related it it was probably just a coincedence. so i read what the codes were and the one was about tempature.

my uncle told me for tht code to set i would need to look at a 2 wire thermo sensor. so i looked at the 2 in the front of the intake and i was able to turn the wire plug almost 360*.

Berry looks really good shined up. Mine was the same way. The dents didnt show up on the computer, but they were there, plenty of them.

I am going to come up with a soft top next summer for mine. It is nice with the top off, but a roof would be nice.

yea this little roof keeps the sun off my neck and at night or in the morning when its cold it keeps the air from just completely rushing into the back of the cab

where one of the 2 bolts hold the light top on, broke so i think i may throw the top away but i may get to make another.

i the went to put the mesh top on and my rear most driver bolt by the electrical connectos snapped in half when tighting it down. i the tried to unscew it through the bottom since it broke flush but for som reason it wouldnt and i couldnt get it to unscrew because i screwed the threads up with the vise grips.

so then i took a hammer and a screw driver to the top of it hoping i could just pop the nut off with the bolt and it bent the sheet metal. and i might have broke my index knuckle cause i missed once with the hammer.

edit: forgot to mention. i wored up a trailer today for an friend so i should be able to get a real good deal on a 8" wide piece of C channel steall to make a bumper out of. we will see

Will be looking forward to the new top. Ouch..I feel the pain over here for you. Broken bones hurt for quite some time. Hopefully you didnt break it. What really makes it frustrating is when you do it yourself like that. Been there and done that.

bad news my finger still hurts. haha

good news:
i got the broken bolt out, i broke the welds to the nut. so when i decide to i need to do a lil hammering to fix the hammering yesterday and then weld a new nut on. and it will be as good as new.

also got some more stuff:

im going to use the angle iron to make a real soft top structure. and the shocks are rancho 9000 off a 2000 something chevy pickup. i can def use the rear pair on the scav for the swap and i might be able to work something up to use the other pair for the front.

also found this:

it looks like a universal roof rack. not sur if i will keep it but it was free so yea.

and since i broke tht back nut i wasnt able to put the back hoop on for the mesh top so i did this:

the rest of the mesh tht would go to the very end is folded around the roll bar and stuffed inbetween the over head mesh and the front hoop. it works and it will keep me from freezing when driving to work in the morning

and here were my to trucks by each other:
