What's the S10 donating?

 

Motor and possibly transmission. It needs a tad bit of work to make run right. I really got it as a backup for when the 3.0 finally goes. I plan to do t case gears first, then see where were at. Did I mention the truck was free?

 

Opted for the 4.3 that's in there (maybe?) over a 3.4 or Lexus swap?

 

Yeah its a 4.3. Well I cant beat the price. I would have to pay around a grand for a 3.4 around here, and who knows for the lexus.

Plus it makes better numbers than the 3.4. And I have no brand loyalty, parts are parts.

 

4.3 swap, that will be cool, can't beat free parts!

Glad to see you got your donor vehicle. Cant beat free. Ive never rode in a truck with a good running 3.0, but I cant see it being as nice as having a 4.3....so swap on lol.

 

That 4.3 is a great little motor and will provide plenty of get up and go for it. Free always fits in the price range on that.

Naa, the trucks are at my folks house/shop, I mostly only get down there on weekends. But I did order a engine stand. Haha.

We have a club meeting with some wheeling after this weekend, so I doubt Ill work on it much then. My step dad wants the frame/suspension, so he may pull the cab/ engine.

Im picking a top shift t case soon. I already have a fwd shift, bit for the same price of the top shift conversion, I can just get a top shift. Ill probably order the gears right after Christmas and get them in soon after. My squeeky pilot bearing is getting worse so hopefully I can pull the tranny and do the t case at the same time.

Its in the 40s most days now, bike got put away 2 weeks ago. There is snow on the tops of the ski areas. Wont be long till snow wheelin!

 

...and ski/snowboard/snow machine season.

 

All the good suff! I usually end up teaching snowboarding during winter weekends, for some extra truck money. Haha.

Once I finish getting the s10 stripped down, Ill have a bay back to drop the tranny/t case and check the squeek (been dubbed my squirrel call) and get movin on the 4.7 gears.
