Being an old geezer '09 seems like yesterday, but I know what you mean. Time flies.

Didn't do any work, but it was a beautiful day and I already had the top off sooooo, I grabbed the plate off the 97"ssshhh" and the wife and I jump in old yeller and went for a spin, we planned on just a short ride staying on back roads by the time we got back home the trip odometer read 117 mls, what a great time, neither of us were ready to come home but I figured we had pushed our luck enough but it has defiantly started a fire under me to get the old girl legal and back together.

A 117 mile short spin? I got a laugh out of that. Great to hear you enjoyed the ride. Enjoyed reading your post on that.

Finished up a project I've been wanting to get to for a long time, as some of you may remember my old yeller caught fire awhile back "ok over a year ago" and when it did it got hot enough to blister the paint on top of the hood. I was going to just reshoot the hood but the I thought maybe this was an opportunity to do something a little different, I talked to our good buddy Terry about my plan and he said " what's the worst that can happen you'll have to repaint it any way" so I figured I'd give it a shot.

This is how be the area was that was damaged.

Looks to me like it blistered the factory paint or maybe the sealer.

The stencils I used for the 4s were a different style than the letters and they didn't peal off very well so I have some cleaning up to do with that. I wish I would have used bigger letters and spread the spelling out a little longer but overall I'm very happy with how it turned out.
There it is let me know what you guys think, thanks for checking in.

Worked on the on girl a little more today, I was given part of the console out of a 1rst gen Tacoma awhile back, I had done a little test fitting and it looked like it was going to fit a work and look good so today I decided to move forward with putting it in.
I had to move the window switch to the dash above the radio but I planned to do that anyway, in hind sight I didn't do it properly but I didn't hurt anything either, instead of lengthening the harness side of the wiring I cut the plug off the switch DOH, it works for now and at some point I will get a new switch and change it around, my thought process was it would be easier to solder everything on the bench instead of in the truck.
Anyway on some pics.

And the new console installed, I will paint it to match when I get some more interior paint but I think it looks great and man will it be nice having those cup holders.

The bucket actually is removable, not sure how hard it would be but I can snap some pics of the underside if you would like. I think it could be made to work.
