Hahhaha...nah, believe me I kept up on your thread and knew what you were dealing with. I would've went to the Master long before you did.
Look forward to a new build thread 88' SR5 V6 Auto. I just found the same exact vehicle for my buddy's son except it was a manual, we picked it up and trailer'd it back about a month ago. He's gotta rebuild the engine as it had a thrown rod. I was very close to keeping it for myself, but with my current/upcoming Camry project I decided to give him first dibs.

Wow long time since an update. Plans on how to get this old girl back on the road keep changing, the plan was to drop it off with terry and let him have at it, I would still like to go this route but it's just not worked out to get it up to him. So after much encouragement from Terry I again have her back in the shop, the fuel tank is out and soaking, I knew it would be nasty but it was way worse than I expected since I'd already soaked it before while still in the truck. Pulled the injectors again terry and both think the problem is all 4 are plugged, the screens look clean but they could be just stuck. I haven't decided whether to clean and use these if I or terry can get them to work or pick up a set of flame throwers that decision will be made soon. I need to retest the injector wiring to make sure I'm getting signal if not that will be a whole new can of worms, but the system needs cleaned and sealed anyway so that's where I'm starting. I did the noid light test but I'm not sure I did it correctly so that's the next step. Hopefully have some answers soon. Thanks for checking in

well like the tester terry made a momentary switch, 9volt battery (smoke detector) some aligator clips or old injector harness clip and some wire carb cleaner to help lube the pintile
the injectors just need enough volts to pop the magnet pulling the pinlte up off its seat 9vt seems to be enough i cleaned my injectors that way an terry found couple of his were stuck a firm tap on the metal side with a screw driver handle while clicking the injector while stuck could free it up

Dragon I'm to the point I don't trust myself with any of this, you guys that follow me know how long I've been dealing with this, at some point you have have to ask yourself "hmm maybe it's me" lol. I may give cleaning the injectors another shot just have to see when I get back home.

Spent so time in the shop working on the old girl today. The tank is still soaking, it's filthy inside, really wish I could get terry to look at it and say yep that's good or no let it go a little longer, it's starting to sound like sand sloshing around in it so I guess it's working.
I also tried to check the injectors in the manner that terry and Cyberhorn have explained to me, the first 3 did nothing and I assumed I was doing somthing wrong but the fourth made a solid click and I could get fluid thru it, I thought hmm might be onto somthing here, I soaked the other with PB blaster let them sit awhile and tried it again, after a few lite wraps with a small hammer in managed to get all of them freed up and clicking and could pass fluid thru them both directions. However the just don't seem to make the same sound as the one good one I found, still thinking about just replacing all of them.
Still have to pick up a fuel pump, filter, red coat and a few other things but moving along Nicely for the moment. Thanks for checking in.

I can see it happening now, kinda frustrated with myself for trying to cut corners all this time.

Last day at home so I wanted to get as much done as I could. Drained the vinegar out of the tank and flushed it several times with water, I can't believe how much trash keeps coming out. The areas that I can see look really good I just need to let it dry completely and vacuums it out.
Also removed the fuel pump and started cleaning the bracket for it. Not sure about the rest of the country but in tn in the fall we get covered up with these little beetles that look like ladybugs they get into everything I guess even fuel tanks the bracket for the pump and float were just covered with dead ones, inside the pump aswell, tough little bugs anyway.
Got the float freed up so it's move I hope it works I will check it before I put it all back together.
That's going to be it for awhile it's time to head back to work but I'm really happy with the progress this go around. Thanks for checking in.
