I dont think you can get to it from the back side even with everything removed. I would put two small holes in it and use the old fashion dent puller. I think it will pop out nicely. Go right down the center of the dent where it tried to crease. That is the only dent that I can see in the pic. I know that there are possibly more, but all in all the tail gate looks great and solid.

Thanks mark, I didn't get a lot done but I have to say it felt good just to be out working on it. I've had to people in town jokingly coment they don't beleive I own one but rather I'm trying to build one from scratch, I have to get it done soon to prove to them I have it lol.

Sounds like you may have a spare tailgate coming. I would hold on to that one as a spare but it looks like it would make a great tailgate for you.

I'm telling I'm telling, jk the sad thing is the original gate on this one was in fair shape until I did it in, the one on my 97 ummm dont want to discuss that. See I have a way of creating a tree magnet out of 4runner tailgates.

Haha.... I hate phone 'threadin' it, too! ....... Hey, .... you've got ENOUGH of a project going to keep anyone busy... BUT, even more so since you're squeezing it in between working 80 hours a week, fixing her/your(SHHH) 3rd Gen and then Ole'Yella-Fella! lol.

had a very busy day working on the runner a lot of small things but it added up to big progress.
I finished up the pass side jam with paint and a few fat coats of clear, reinstalled or just installed the door as its a new door to this project any way. worked on the only fender I have and got ot where I can use it Im not happy with it but it will have to do any way got it bolted on and aligned the best I cold get it.

got the jam on the driver side painted and cleared also got the door done, wound up with a few bugs in the clear on the door I will touch those spots up in the morning.

Also started preping the under side of the hood, had to degrease it and the are a couple dings that I need to try and work out before I paint the underside of it but hopeing to have all the front panels bolted on tomorrow then its just a matter of working out a few dents in them and they should be ready for primer.
I also cut out the frame work that I had welded in for the p/u tail gate got all the weld ground down and cleaned up. I now have several holes that will neen to be welded shut but that shouldnt be to big a deal.
thats my update for today thanks for checking in.
