Thanks guys.
Kornhuster, the v6 manual was a rare option for the 2nd gen camry and was only available on 88'-89' models. The one guy I know of that has one says it's like driving a totally different car in comparison to the autos.
Terry, all my bluefin were 35lb -40lb, there were some 50lbrs landed. All 5 of them were caught on my 20lb test rig including 5 8lbish yellowtails. My arms were sore for a couple of days! hahahaha....

I don't know where else to post this, so here it goes on my build thread
You guys watch that show Mountainmen on the History Channel? Anyhow, that guy Eustice drives a 2nd Gen toyota 4x4. He turned it into a wood burning fueled truck. In the most recent episode he gets stuck in the mud on a road with his friend Preston. They get out and and use a strap and twist it using a log and it winches it out enough to get them un-stuck. BUT, it clearly shows the locking hubs so you know it's 4WD, but he never engages them, they show the entire vehicle stuck and just the rear wheels spinning and making a deeper hole. I think he's a knucklehead....

Many features in History Channel and Nat Geo, including Extreme Survival Alaska are reality TV stuff, or Hollywood stuff.
In Extreme Survival Alaska, you' see them slipping and sliding on snow/ice. What" You travel in Alaska in winter without ice axes? Then, the next day, they emerge from the hut with their ice axes. What? Waited for director to tell them when to use the ice axe?
Then, they'd walk on a glacier, all roped up without any ice axe -DUH! And Marty, is supposed to be an Alaskan mountaineer!
Then, knowing that they're in bear country, they'd leave their backpacks on the ground (because they're to heavy), in order to portage their kayaks/canoes. When they came back... Surprise!
And how about when they try to find physical evidence that events told in the Bible really happened?
Sorry, no emoticon for face-butt -LOL!

I will have to start looking for that episode. I knew a guy that was complaining that is 3rd gen runner wasn't that great for snow and ice here. He wanted me to check it out for him and I hit the button on the transfer case stick and started to take off and he didn't know it was there or never seen it. He was using the Overdrive button. Next day he loved his runner saying how great was on the snow.

Just check'n in again after 3 months, nothing going on with the truck it's running great.
Been rebuilding a 5-speed transmission for my 90' camry, just got done with it and ready to install. I'm converting it from auto to manual for the toyotafest show next year.

Other than that it's tuna fishing season, so getting my share of them and one more trip at the end of the month!

Just always great to check out your page brother! I wish I had the time to get into that! I'm hoping to get up to the Owens River and then cut over to the North American fork and maybe Rubicon and Fortis and then back down the coast to Santa Cruz and so on... & I was thinking of fishing along the way and also really really really fishing out of Channel Islands! That was probably the most exciting and rewarding fishing experience I ever had. We did a small charter boat and I got the biggest fish of the day at 15 years old my first time surface fishing on the ocean! What a great memory with my father!

Been 3-4 months since I've visited! I actually have an update on the truck from tonight. I got sick and tired of my seat belts not retracting....so I splurged and bought new OEM ones. I did the whole cleaning and winding up thing twice and after a couple of months they go back to the way they were. I will have the old ones re-done with new material when I get a chance to see if that works to keep as spares when these eventually go out and do the same thing.
Some interesting notes, my specific seat belts for a 92' are no longer available. Odd since the 89-91's still seem to be available. My 92' was built in 9/91' but I bought the ones built for a 8/92' to 8/94'. They are about $21 more each in comparison to the ones for 8/88' to 8/91'. Don't know exactly why that is, but I decided to go with the more recent ones in case there was some improvement made over previous years. Below is what I observed.
New one on the left, old on the right

Locking buckle and the locking "hole" is larger on the new one. They actually click in better than my old ones since I have 94' or 95' 4runner bucket seats (had to use the longer seat belt releases and not my stock ones)

Outside protective plastic case is larger on the new one

Thus, the internal mechanism is larger also

They fit fine and work great!

ALSO........Stay Tune later this year, a new build thread coming!
1988 SR5 4runner!
I mentioned once before about bringing back a 4runner for my buddy's son from Santa Barbara with a blown 3VZ...they dropped the project and the baby is now mine! Stock restoration with a 5VZFE will be the goal.

84 yota - 73220-35100-B0 for the Left Hand side....you can go to the site and scroll up from the print screen below and see the RH side part number.
The below image is from toyotapartseast.com but I actually order from partznet.com (Conicelli toyota) in PA because I pay no tax and got free shipping.

Thanks for visiting Sonora....I'm 5' 9" and can still recline the buckets just enough to make it comfortable for me. I'm not sure if you lose some leg room in comparison to a bench, but since I don't need to max out the distance to the rear I only notice an improvement. There are a ton of threads on the Q&A forum, maybe someone your height has some experience to share.
Everyone has a different driving style (how they sit) so it's really hard to answer that.
