Ok, here's it's home for now...just a little velcro. Cleaned it up, painted the line red again, actually the same "garnite red pearl" color as my truck and clear coated the whole thing to make the black look new again and brushed aluminum look shine.

Grego... that is SO FREAKING COOL! hahaha.. You did better than Toyota did with it originally, ya know?(I bet they see stuff people do in customizing and steal the ideas! lol.... Someone told me TRD is LARGELY a bunch of NET PIRATES that take ideas from people then make them SICK with their TONS of resources, ya know? (The guy who told me that works in the UPPER FLOORS, so to speak, at Toyota.. They gave him a Supra TT one year... He still has it.... It's that SUPER RARE Twin Turbo 4Wheel Steering and MUCH more-type- Supra that they only made like 70 of... HE GOT ONE! haha. THAT THING IS SOOOOOOO FASTTTTTTTTTT! haha.

Man, that really looks good on the seats. And trippy... 85, they had '4WD Toyota' on the Incline-o-meter. I don't think mine says that. Pretty shnazzy!

Great score, man... Always feels good, doesn't it? I swear, ..... PYPart and PAPart is like CRACK!!!!!! hehehehe.

Saw this mod on the Camry forum and knew this was the perfect mod for my truck. $4.00 (half off sale) from the junk yard. They come from early 90's Ford Taurus', don't know exact years, but there seems to be alot of them at the yards around here as I had my pickings.

It's a cup and coin holder, with push button spring loaded trays. Although my dash already has a cup holder I'm unable to use it when I hook up my GPS because of the way my holder uses the air vents. You will lose the use of the pocket under your radio by doing this. I don't use it for anything but to hold receipts or crap, and now that I have a dual storage center console I definitely had zero use for it.

Used Mr. Dremel to do some trimming off the sides, bottom and rear.

The dash hides any not so perfect cuts so it still looks like a custom fit.

While in 5th gear. When you shift into 5th you will bump it, but it sits fine without any interference. Or you can just be careful when you shift

Hopefully others can benefit from this, it's a fairly easy and useful mod for certain people.

That is one of the coolest pop out drawers I've seen! Too bad the car itself was a POCrap, lol... BUT, that is SWEET, I'll give em that

NICE INSTALL, Grego, .... wow man, you come up with some really cool stuff.

So this was Pick AAAAAAAA Part, again, right? November again for the Pick-YOUR-Part..... I plan on heading there ahead of time and SNAGGLING stuff for HIDING. muAHAHAHAHA!

LOVE the floor mats, too!

BTW, was thinking of one of these for the back of my rig/cargo area........

http://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com...rsal-Cargo-Mat

..........is that a good deal? ^^ SWEAR I've seen those for like 120$ at Pep Boys or something. The DEPTH to the back of my rear seats is 43"... BUT, I could MAYBE find one they have that's a lil bigger? They're REALLY nice! I like my Floor Mats... Good Year Premium or something like that. My WeatherTech mats after 10 years finally started to tear a lil... BUT, I think I like em better! lol... I got them at BIG LOTS, MAN! 10$ for both, cuz the girl messed up! .... ONLY problem is they're black.. BUT, to be honest, Grego? LIGHT GRAY AND CHARCOAL LOOK REALLLLLLLLLY fuggly with stains! lol. I think I'll put my Weathertech mats back up front.

BTW, ... I LOVE having my TomTom... saved my ARSE the other day! lol.

I don't know if that's a good price or not, but I do remember my mats being around $80....kinda expensive. But one of the best investments I've made. I get a lot of SAND in my rig from kayak fishing....it's so easy to just take them out and hose them off or vacuum them up. These things don't stain, a wet paper towel or 409 and a rag for grease....wonderful! Twice I've spilled a good amount of soda on them and because they're concave I didn't even care, it just kept it all on the mat until I got home and wiped up with some paper towels and water to keep it from getting sticky.

They don't make a Husky liner for the rear of your rig? Then you can have that concave type like my mats.....it's really nice to have, if anything spills it stays in there.

Yeah, I don't know on the Husky.... I seem to remember searching my rump off and never finding anything but "90 and up" kinda thing, ya know? BUT, I could REALLY measure things out at the yard on a 2nd Gen and see if that'd work.

The Weathertech ones I have for the front? THEY'RE SICK! lol.... I TOTALLY agree on the spills, etc. I'm putting them back in asap... Just wanna clean em up. Unfortunately, I had put some junk ones in there one time... And they RUINED MY CARPET! .... The tar-like bottom just came off as I rubbed with my feet... and now that tar is permastuck to my carpet, pretty sure! .......... I'll have to try to clean them anyhow... cuz I don't have 180$ for a Carpet Kit and this and that and this and that, all day long, ya know? hehehe. Maybe one day I'll find a first Gen 4Runner in the yard that's got BRAND NEW CARPET.... and everything else I need/want, .... yeah, that's what I was thinking, hehe.

I like the concave mats, too. Cousin's 4th gen Runner has a Weather Tech in trunk and looks good and very functional. Weather Tech's too expensive, and I don't wanna spend to much on the truck, so I'll start just by first replacing carpet with rubber covering, like on friend's Honda Element.

Holy cow, that's a sweet mod! I wonder it it would work on our first gen trucks, as we do not have stock cup holders. That would be sick to have. I'm gonna have to look for one of those on my next trip to the pick ur part. BTW can you give me the dimensions of that piece(after your trimmings) like the height and width of it. Thanks a lot man. Pure awesomeness! Lol

Yeah, hey RAD, ... the more I thought about that RUBBER covering.... I want that STRICTLY to be 'easily removable' and 'over carpeting' (mine is REALLY STRONGLY velcro'd down... not sure where they made this velcro... It's like COMIC BOOK STRENGTH! lol.... )... anyway, the carpeting I want removable as well... All over the precise cut out of Closed cell foam. At times, MOST OFTEN, I don't want the 'NO SLIP' factor.... I use my hooks all the time...... And, I far more often 'slide things' in and out. Then secure them. I DO have a rubber mat I use OVER the carpet toward the back seat backs... That keeps my tool box and stuff still.

I might be dying my carpet if it doesn't clean up like I want... Probably at least a Charcoal color... That might help hide those ridge marks, which I'll be eliminating later anyhow, making the bed 'flush'/'flat', by filling in the corrugation then thin rubber or that Closed cell anti-fatigue stuff.

PS> RICHARD>.... I posted links in my thread for anti fatigue diamond plated foam mat.... THAT would work for you, over some project board(unless you're planning on putting subs in the walls like me? ) It's light, would kill sound a bit and vibration if you stuck it on right.

Richard, check out cyberdragon's build up...he's doing it for your guys's rigs so he'll pave the way for you. EDIT: CORRECTION: CyberHorn the Dragon

And I have no idea about the dimensions, it's roughly the same size as any single din radio, you can see the radio (with faceplate off) sitting right on top of it in one of the pictures. And NO, I'm not going to take it all apart and measure it for you!!!! bhahhahaaha

And Chef!!! what are you talking about??? I think you posted on my thread when you meant to post on Richard's!!! you got too many builds you're subscribed to

Sorry Grego... nope, it was just sub-commenting to what they'd commented in regards to your comments hehehe.

I'll refrain from that extra commentary on here if ya'd like... My bad.

Every thread I'm watching, people are really active doing major things to their rigs...so I just wanted to post something too

Little things I've done recently:

Nissan 240SX shifter knob. Ours is real wimpy looking, I've been looking for a good condition 2nd Gen 4runner leather one but haven't come across one at the yard. So I just re-tapped the threading on this black Nissan one and it feels really good and looks factory.

Grabbed this tray from a 3rd Gen SR5 Pickup (2WD) to replace the one I had with the smaller pocket and 3 spaces for switches. I have no use for the switches as mine is manual everything. Luckily Redeth mentioned he was looking for a console like mine, so after we stripped that 87' Runner at one yard we drove to another nearby yard and I showed him where the console was and then gave him my old pocket with the 3 switch holes since his 4runner actually uses the switches. So everyone was happy!

Grabbed this trunk cargo netting from an Infiniti, just trying to salvage as much space as possible behind the seats in my regular cab. Probably do a couple of MOLLE cargo packs above that (one behind each seat) for more storage options.

And I also grabbed the center console from the 87' runner. I offered it to Richard before we left for the yard, but he passed on it after I showed him the damage , but I think it's salvageable....I like restoring things like this. It appeared the owner modified a 2wd shifter console/boot to work on that 4runner, thus the little intermediate console. It's in pretty bad shape, but I like the challenge, can't buy these anymore.

Lol your post made me laugh. I felt the same way about 2-3 weeks ago everyone doing work o. their rigs and I wasn't doing anything hahaha.
Grego thanks again for that center console area with the switches and other piece. I cleaned up the one we got off the 2nd en pickup, and swapped in the better shape parts you gave me and now that center console looks brand spankin' new. I will take pix today(I hope) I havent don't picture updates on what I've installed yet.

Anyway Grego that shifter knob came out clean and like you said it looks like it came out of the factory like that. And best of all it matches your truck. I like that netting that you put in the rear seat area it looks good.

Hot as heck today in the L.A. area....so decided to take it easy and restore the 1st Gen 4runner center console. Just need to have the arm rest re-skinned and then it will be done.

Major cracks needed to be glued and the top left and mounting holes had to be re-created using bondo. I didn't make the mounting holes pretty as washers and screws will cover that up when mounted. Nothing perfect but a heck of a lot better than it was.

The tabs that hold the lid restraining arms were broken off. Grinded the rest of it off and flattened the area out using Mr. Dremel. Found these from the non-double decker style lid and mounted them up, works perfect.

The restraining arm was completely missing. Looking at some photos on the web site I got an idea of what it was suppose to look like. Found one very similar on a toyota celica/supra late 80's model. Some minor cutting and grinding and it worked like factory.

Nice, Grego! Used that flexible paint? I'm gonna need that too when I do my cup holder.
