Well... I struck out on the t-case thing for the automatic transmission. I didn't really want another slushbox anyway.

So, in doing some research, I came across http://www.ksracing.net/Bell-Housing.php

I went ahead and ordered the 1UZ bellhousing kit, complete with clutch kit, spacer, slave, clutch fork and flywheel.

Narin was very helpful, polite and quick to reply by email. The set will be shipping out on Monday.

I then scored a free R150F for free last night, complete with shifters, t-case and cross member.

Got the bellhousing kit and body lift yesterday.

Then went and picked up the tranny today, and bolted the bellhousing, clutch fork, release bearing and slave to it.

Also scored a pedal set, clutch master and line for $13 from Pull A Part.

Sure is! It's an 83 Subaru GL hatch with a combined 10" of lift. It has a welded center diff and it runs a divorced Suzuki T-case and a flipped R160 front diff.

I got the 4Crawler 2" body lift in yesterday. Yet another thing checked off the pre-swap list.

I haven't adjusted the rock sliders yet. Actually, I'm not sure if I am going to as they are functional still, and make ingress/egress easier at the moment. The only reason I would raise them is for asthetics... we'll see. lol

I was able to get all of my parts gathered into one place, and work began this weekend.

Here are some pics of the on going progress.

All of my crap in one place.

Engine up on a stand after ditching the slush-box and SC400 cats.

Gettin' started!

I was able to get the new water pump, cam and crank seals, timing belt and tune up parts on last night.
Tonight I am replacing the valve cover gaskets, spark plug tube seal and cam plugs.

I got the LS400 front sump oil pan and pick up on.

Brilliant place for a starter. Good thing I took the giant rats nest out from the valley.

Cleaned and resealed. God I love our hot parts washer.

I've been busy these last two weekends. The engine has been completely resealed, less the head gaskets. I hope that wont come back to bite me.

Got the front sump on, Tundra manifolds (that came with o2's that plugged right in to the SC harness), "Gloveman"s engine mounts from NZ, all accessories fitted. Most of the wiring is accounted for, I was able to get the entire charging system from the chassis harness I got with this engine.

Hopefully I can gut the truck next weekend and get this thing in for a test fit.

The dash that came with this truck looked like some kind of rabid hell beast melted it with a MAP gas torch, so I decided today was as good of day as any to replace it with the one I got from Pull A Part for $25. While I was there I installed the $13 Pull A Part special clutch pedal and master set. The plumbing is in too. Now all I need is that trans in there.

While I was back there, I cleaned up the wiring for the double din, amps, Sirius and the CB. Everything fits better than new now.

Hell yeah! I get impatient when it's this close, and usually sacrifice sleep.

I think you might know a guy I work with, TJ and his girlfriend Ashley. They had mentioned going out on some trails with a guy that had a maroon two door Runner. I figured it had to be you.

That dash looks really good. Did you mess with pulling any wires out for the ecu yet or just plug everything back into the stock box?

X2 on seeing the engine mounts.
