Cool. Thanks shaggy. I paid attention to the front shaft orientation, but not the rear. I just assumed to put the slip at the front since some trannys use the output yoke as the slip joint too.

I got about a hundred miles in total done yesterday, all flawless. Fuel economy seems about identical to the 22re so far. And, I still haven't had a starting issue since installing the relay yesterday.

I plan to install my new second hand drivers door today and maybe play with some more wiring.

Gahhhh! Dammit....

I have a coolant leak. It's dripping from the clutch fork. Looks like the rear crossover is leaking, and I'm gonna have to pull the intake again anyway.

I found a bonehead mistake, thank god...

Whoops! That was the source of the leak, filling the block valley and running out the back onto the clutch.

Wooooo, I don't have to pull the intake!

I had to trim it a bit for the shifters to come through, but not much.

hey dunkin not to be the bearer of possible bad news. but i did some measurements and unless your input shaft spacer slid right on your input shaft you might want to pull your tranny maby. i ended up drilling the one i have out to fit over it and its very close. i have all the measurments i took if you want them.

Thanks bud, but mine fit perfectly with the KS Flywheel. I was able to measure the clearance before I installed it.

Narin from KS Racing did get back to me recently as well. I found out he is using a clutch kit from the JDM/EDM 3.0 TD Toyotas.
1KD-FTV (3000cc. turbo diesel engine)
I believe that is where the flywheel came from also.

However, I do have to pull the tranny soon, since the rear main is leaking a bit. I knew I should have picked up a seal from the dealer and not from WorldPac... Oh well.

Well the pilot bearing still goes in the crank. Don't be saying that. That is where I got my cam seals and rear cam plugs from.

The cam seals and cam plugs look to be OK and fit great for me. The rear main just slid in by hand though, and made me a bit leery of it to begin with. Now that I see small drops from the bottom of the bell housing, my fears have been confirmed.

When I originally installed the transmission, it fell right into place. I didn't have to force it at all.

Sorry to hear you're pullin the Trans for the rear main! GRR! Hope it goes without hitch, man! (I'm going to have to pull both front and rear eventually.... even with New Oil pump, Timing Cover, Rebuild, REplacement Low Miles Crank, Clutch Complete Kit, ...GRRR! lol.. Oh well, the beat goes on, eh? lol)

Be safe man, best wishes on the work at hand, ....

Mark

I just have it tucked under the carpet at the moment. I need to get motivated and finish the wiring.

I can tell you that you will absolutely love 3rd gear from 70-90ish on the freeway. I'm also pretty amazed with how stable she feels at 110.

I hope that helps with the ambition. Lol

Your so lucky to find a 2dr second gen with a 22re. They made 1200 2dr 2nd gen runners, I was unfortunate enough to get one with the 3.slow V6. And then I rolled mine. Wish you better luck with yours.
