the wind noise of the rack was driving me a little nuts
decided to try adding a piece of 8020 quarter round to the leading edge
I can hear the tires hum again
I will probably make an end cap for the quarter round

added some stupid little plastic inserts to some of the cross pieces to finish things up a little better

That roof rack looks very professional made, people will start asking where you bought it.

Got the 4runner through emissions today, happy about that since the 3.0 can be finicky

also recently found out Husky Liner still has floor mats available for 2nd gens. That made be happy since the mats will protect the carpet very well and I have used them in a few cars since my Alaska days, awesome for catching all kinds of crap

haha Ray. Clear coat was peeling like crazy and from the 1st day I dragged this thing home I knew I would end up doing something similar.
I can never just leave stuff alone

sanded the whole truck down with 150g
Than wiped it down with acetone.
if the weather cooperates tomorrow I will start rolling stuff on.

the peeling may be that this thing has been outside for most of it's 25 year life

after 3 brushes, 3 rollers and a few pairs of gloves the 1st coat is on

It looks good. I like the color.
Is it easy to remove if you change your mind in the future?

I'd got used to the red, but this is the official dropzone color because of the Trekker.

Haha Jake, been getting that a lot..hey did you know you missed a spot... I have a set of Fender Flares that will cover it up.
I used the rollers that came with the kit. I should have taken a pic of them. I had six (4 come with the kit) I tried to find more locally but no luck.
if you go this route I would recommend getting at least 10. They sort of fall apart when you least expect it. Some lasted longer than others.
for brushes I just used some cheap ones from the local dollar store. They seemed to do the trick.

Thanks!! Getting this stuff off would involve a bit of work with a sander. It sticks pretty good once it dries.

Thanks Habanero. I went back and forth for awhile before I decided to do it. Dunno why I like this color and this sort of deal on a truck but i do.

Putting the wipers, spoiler etc back on I got side tracked and decided to play with laying stuff out on the roof rack. The only permanent fixture I think will be the small storage box up front.

Def the sticker with the new look over the red, nice touch.

thanks Habenero! A replacement Grumpy is the the works!

after getting a set of Jungle Flares a little over a year ago I finally got them mounted.
their instructions leave a little bit it to be desired.
basically get them as tight as you can and pray you drill into the inner lip of the curve of the fender.
only snafu was I broke a couple of studs on a front wheel spacer. Can't really complain though since it is 10-11 years old and has been on the Trekker and the 4runner. Luckily I had a spare just took forever to find.
