J, how do the TG springs ride? I am looking at changing my springs because my rig is just to rough. I've been looking at OME and TG, but mostly I am looking for a good ride. The biggest benefit of OME is that I do not have to drill shackle holes, whereas I need to drill through the frame for the TG springs.

I'm a little confused about having to to drill shackle holes with the TG springs? Your 4Runner is an 85', right?

I think you should be able to use the factory holes, you might have to move the front crossmember back a hair to get a better shackle angle though. You can also drill the U-bolt plate and axle mount to get the axle just where you want it.
Have you thought about mixing the front springs you have with some stock rear springs? The factroy shackle holes will work fine and they ride / flex really good (depending on how you mix them). You will have to get a new front spring hanger but you need that anyway.

I've got TG 4" springs in the front as well on my 84. Just used the stock frame tubes and used a TG front spring hanger. Worked out good. Just make sure you get enough shackle angle when you set it up. Front TG springs are 47" long (same as RUF)

(And yes, I did take the 4Runner through that spot without a tug or winch but it took a little skinny pedal
!)

The tailgate looks great, I think you will really like it! Now you need to build a bumper before you dent it up (and paint the truck one color
...
). Let me know when you want to do some snow wheeling and we'll figure something out!
EDIT: Nice JEEP!

Thanks for the info, I was going to mention that you had the TG springs on your truck.

Cory's rig is such a beast
I gotta make to it Trough Trail one of these days, looks killer.

) is awesome, but I was really surprised how well the 4Runner did up there! That was no place for a full body rig on 35's but it did great! I'm really impressed how well the new MTR's hooked up!
The lower section was a little beat up when we got there, but the upper section was all fresh tracks and had a good foot of snow in areas!

I think you have a way's to go before you get to that point, but I'm more than happy to give you a hand and show you the way! I really miss the sound of crushing and tearing sheet metal!

I can't put into words how cool it would be if you painted your rig like your daughter's Jeep, now that you brought it up I might have to hold you to it!!!
Someone that has Photoshop needs to get on this ASAP!

Cory and I go wheeling every two or three weeks, depending on the weather, work, etc, etc. PM me your phone number & E-mail and I will let you know when we are going out next. Our buddy Mike is almost done building his buggy on Rockwell's and 49's, so I'm guessing there will be be a few test runs comimg soon! Aaron has wanted to do some snow wheeling too, maybe we can figure something out.
