haha. That is true, however my mother hates when I park on her grass. I just like driving over the curb. hehe.

Just got sparkplugs, and new wires for the truck! Yay, may do that tonight.

Just playing around on a hill and by a small stump. hehe.

This picture is at some store in Alabama. I drove by and there were three Yotas out front. So I pulled in and was checking them out. There was a runner, than my truck, than another 94, and than on the far end is a super nice 86(I think) pikcup, custom flat bed and such. I started taking pictures and a guy comes out and we started talking about Yotas, than he asked if I wanted to sell mine. haha. I told him, I doubt he could offer me enough to convince me to part with her. haha. I have more picture, but not many good ones of the 86. =/

Well, Spark plugs and wires are done as of today, and 113,107 miles are on the truck. It was kind of a pain in the butt.

Here's everything afterwards. yay!

Why it sucked so bad. The wire broke in my distributor cap... I was being gentle, and pulled and it was really stuck, asked someone about it, and they said twist it and just pull it should come. But that sucker was really in there. So I threw some WD40 on it, let it sit for a little, and man handled with the pliers, finally got the metal bit out. I'm planning to replace the cap on the coming paycheck.

All the old spark plugs.

Here's a few more pictures of the other Yotas.

This had a hood scoop, which was nifty.

The Melon and my buddy's Dodge. Haha.

The black was chipping, also that light green is some paint I threw on quick to cover some spots, it didn't match quite as good right there, but no one notices. haha.

There is is covered with black.

Anyways, the truck seems to be running alright after the change of plugs and wires. I've never done that before, so it was pretty cool. =]

Well done Dee, nothing better than doing it yourself, bit of a bugger with that coil lead being jammed in, but you won

Did you look at the old plugs. the electrodes can be a good indicator of how each cylinder is running !! Hard to tell from that pic, but they don't look to bad.

The word "Bugger" goes hand in hand with toyota after a series of Toyota Ads down under, not sure whether you got them in the US.
"Bugger"
""BUGGER""

Yup, yesterday I was about ready to kick my truck a few times, but finally got it fixed and it is an awesome feeling to do it by myself!

And yup, I checked over my old plugs, they look alright, the electrode was worn on two of them, but beyond that they just looked like it was time to replace them. =P I'm just ready to drive my truck again, haha. Been driving my mother's Chevy, and it's just not the same, miss the hum. =P haha

You have it easy with the 4 cylinder. I dread having to replace the plugs in mine when the time comes.

I'm not a big fan of the non-functional hood scoop on that 4Runner. It's looks cheap, tacky, and it doesn't serve a purpose. I do, however, like the intensity of the giant window deflectors I also like his fender flares. If...no no...WHEN I get an inspection ticket for my tires sticking out too far, I'm going to get those DIY fender flares like him. They are cheap and they look great, unlike cutout flares.

I never changed spark plugs before, so it was a bit of a pain for me, but I'm glad I got it done. And yeah, sucks to be you buddy. =P hehe.

Also yeah, the hood scoop on this runner looked kind of tacky, it wasn't a very nice transition. But yeah I noticed the rain guards and giggled at them too. Over all, I was pretty happy about seeing all these Yotas together. Hehe.

Painted the silver decals Green. Giving it a bit more of a Melon look. Hopefully I'm getting sliders within the next month and I'll paint them that same green. =P Also painted the Silver Toyota on the tailgate Green.

Opinions on roll bars?

I love your truck.

Not real big on the decals being green, but I do see why you did it considering you call it your "Melon". ha

Glad you like it!

And yeah, I wasn't sure how the decals would look, my biggest thing about my truck is I want it to be mine, like if you saw it, you'd know it's my truck. One of a kind. =P I wasn't sure what shade of green to go with, so it took a little playing around to get it, but I actually really like how the decals look. But that's just me. =P It looks a lot better in person than that picture shows. Maybe I'll take a different picture to show it off.

And welcome to Yotatech, noticed you only have two posts. =]

Honestly, I think if given the chance I'd get a little bit older of a Yota. I like the little bit boxier style of like 86 and such. But I also really like my truck. Hehe

Here's the one side all taped up and painted. haha. Don't laugh at it. I worked with what I had. =P

Picture kinda close up of it.

Had to use my tires one last time before I switched them for a trip. =P

Than my road tires, and a picture of the painted decal.

I don't care so much for the older models, or the newer tacomas. Just like the 89-96 i believe.

anyways, going to pick up my first truck this Saturday. It's a 92, regular cab, pick up 4wd. So excited.

Just needed to tell someone.

Dee, the stripe looks good. A very creative masking job.
Have a safe drive back north.

I used what I had, so be nice about my masking job! I had a roll of blue painters tape, a roll of duct tape, and than some square thick paper towels. It did the job, so I don't care how tacky it looked at the time. hehe.

Thanks, hopefully the trip will go smoothly. =] My road tires are so... Quiet. I'm really not use to it. Hehe.

Jeremy, I like from like 84-94, and than I hate the early tacomas, but the newest ones are pretty sharp. That's just my preference, however if I had enough money for a new taco, I'd probably still get a truck from the 84-94 range. haha.

Grats on getting the truck! You better post a buildup, I'll be looking for it! =]

I meant my comment as a complement to your creativity and improv. With the shape of the decal, I think it was a great solution! Keep it up!

I know. =P And will do, it was a fun, not so quick project. hehe. Anything to keep me busy, and if it's truck related, even better! Why don't you have a build up? =[

And, no one gave their opinions on roll bars, I have one waiting for me back home with lights on it. Not sure if I want it though. =P

My truck is so stock it's not even funny....it's has a few tweaks here and there, but nothing major. Bought it with 0.8 miles and 195k now so a build thread for me will be more like a maintenance thread. Habanero asked the same ?? so maybe I'll get a photobucket acct set-up and toss something together.

No input from me on roll bars since I've had a canopy on mine from nearly day 1.

Who cares how stock it is. =P Trust me, my friends hate going out in public with me, because if I see a Toyota I like, I'm like "DID YOU GUYS SEEE THAT, OMG SO AWESOME." And they are like... "What?" And I'll start rambling about a more or less stock truck that wasn't impressive in almost anyway. Hehe. It's especially bad when it's an impressive truck. haha.

It's just nice to be able to keep tabs on people's trucks and seeing any little things they change, and especially nice for the big changes. Is yours your DD?

I have a topper, and I used it this past winter, which was nice, and I brought it down south with me in case of rain because I'm carrying junk around for parents/relatives and so on. But I'm just not sure on the look, and if it's worth it over all, although I'm sure the lights would be nice... I might have to mock it up and kinda see how it looks with my truck. My brother in law has a Chevy that he's building, and he tossed a rollbar in it, and likes it a lot more, so he'll probably try to convince me to put it in the truck. haha. He's kinda bias in his opinion. =P

It was the fulltime DD until a couple of years ago. Now, its my winter get up-to-the-mountain go skiing rig, some playing around in local orchards/farms, and on the fire roads in the mountains.
