Sweet ride. Makes me want to work on my truck I just got. Off to the parts house tonight for a tuneup.

Thanks guys

Stewmaker-I probably wouldn't have room to fit 35s as of now. I would need to do some trimming, wider and higher fiberglass fenders and bedsides so nothing would rub. So I'd say, for me, 33 is the max.

Yeah I figured as much. Your truck looks proportionate though. I swapped a 3.4 into my truck last winter so I have a 1" body lift on mine, hopefully the BL and a little trimming will be able to stuff 35s under it. Planning on getting a thread started soon enough too!

Even though money is running low right now, I ordered a re-manufactured power steering box from WabFab. It was pretty expensive, but I've been buying some cheap replacement parts for my truck and they just don't hold up like they should. Plus I can't afford any more problems with it leaking and destroying the rest of the power steering gear due to lack of fluid.

Sounds jam up. What other weak links have you found in the steering?

There hasn't really been a weak link in my steering as far as I'm concerned. The reason my power steering box leaks is because of me putting regular power steering fluid in it.

That'll surely give you more than enough funds for Blazeland stuff. Good luck with your sale.

Every Toyota I've converted a new box like yours has been used just because I don't want steering to be an issue ever. Too many other things get torn up wheeling as it is.

Nice truck.

More Leaks

So I looked under my truck the other day and saw this.

Yep, my rear axle seal is leaking. YAY!!!!!!!!!! -_-

Here's the other side for comparison

After some reading, I learned that the diff breather being plugged can cause pressure to re-route through the seals. I looked at mine and the cap moved up and down so I knew it wasn't rusted shut or anything. So I took some PB Blaster and a 14mm Wrench and removed it from the axle housing. The whole inside of the breather was completely filled with crud.

So I cleaned it out using PB blaster, used a couple of my roommates pipe cleaners (I'll give him a dollar when he gets back, he'll know its for a good cause), and soaking it in hot water.

All clean, and I can actually see the other side.

So now I have a little more peace of mind with the diff breather, hopefully the bearings won't go out anytime soon due to the gear oil. I don't have a press to replace bearings, so if the time comes I'll just take it to the shop.

How much diff fluid came out when you removed it? if you didn't run it dry, it should be fine for the diff bearings if it was still 1/2 full when you discovered the leak...
