Wow, hope the news about Philbert isn't true. Don't know him from Adam, but still...
I guess the draw could be related to the wiring debacle between the glove box and inclinometer...but the only time the inclinometer is supposed to light up is when the headlights/parking lights are on, right? So if the connectors were mixed up somehow by my "help" when we tore the dash apart, the glove box light would only come on when you have the headlights/parking lights on, right? And the inclinometer would light up whenever the glove box is opened, or would it only be when the glove box is opened and the headlights/parking lights are on? I've never checked to see if my glove box lights up without the headlights on...

Is the short or whatever, that's exactly what I'm saying! I'm not sure if the glove box only came on with the lights on, but that's how it works now. , if that means the plug to the love is constant power switch ground and is now plugged into the what somebody, I would figure it wouldn't work at all or would always be on. Either way I have to tear the dash open again. You remember that for connector portion of the harness that was free when I asked Ohno, where does that go? And I wrote glove box and incline on two of them? I can't be sure that the glove box and climate got switched at all and the incline meter is a plug just like the dome light, so they are nothing alike. Terry thinks it's not likely because tell you that made all the plugs different so that they wouldn't be mix up. However, I had them the other way until I turned the glove plug around or at least what I think is the glove plug and saw that I had written glove on it, and then I switch them the other way

SOLVED! (partly, anyhow. Lol.)
I'm not sure if I still have a draw as I just finished few things for the day, but I figured out the glove box clock an incline meter debacle!
I will upload a video that I was doing when I got called and it interrupted it...( gonna change that setting on my phone, haha)... But basically the three prong connector mini harness was plugged in wrong, and just as I thought, the switch ground glove box light was tied to the incline meter making it go on only when the glove box is open.. I took the doctor part one more time plugged them into where I thought they might go which is both of the incline meter plugs down behind the climate control,... And poof, I suddenly had fully functional illumination and......
THE CLOCK WORKED AGAIN! ..... I know it's kind of silly, because I have a clock on my radio with the date and everything, and also on my phone, but after 12 years on this truck and another 10 years before that on others, that's the place I look every time for the time. Lol. Its just naked not having it work, and it bothers the hell out of me. Not to mention, the way this was plugged in wrong, it may very well have been causing a draw. I'm not sure. All three of those items are switched power controlled, so I'm not sure... But, the clock, which guess its power constant to some degree in order to hold memory... Its portion that it connects to you in the hardest was plugged in wrong, which may have not only cause it to be dysfunctional, but possibly to be pulling voltage to something that was ground when it shouldn't have been....
Anyway, IT WORKS AGAIN, THE LOT!

Glad you got all the wiring all figured out and are cleaning up your rig even more! I have been following your instagram account on iphoneogram almost daily and love seeing the progress. Just curious when looking in the background, I saw that the power windows were not yet installed. Is that next on the list? Swapping them over from the red truck?

I hope it is not true about Philbert. I have spoken with him in the past on some PMs and threads and a really nice guy. He was always pleasant to deal with.
Glad to see you got the light issue figured out. I didn't see that plug you were asking about on the pickup I am working on. I will look and see on my runner just incase it is a runner only thing.

I found it! The homeless connector does in fact go to the back of the drop light plug. I have no idea if that is hot full time... But I'm going to find out tomorrow. I couldn't stand not knowing so I walked out to the cable which I have stored in the garage, and there it was!
Now my entire dash is just like it was nothing is missing or out of place! Ecstatic!

I am really, really sorry to inform people of a very horrific accident involving one of the many well-known and very cool person of yotatech.com . This may already be posted, but I could not find it...

This is......, well, it's just, plain and simple, a terrible story. I think it would be really nice to keep Emily, his wife, in your prayers. I didn't know that he was such a computer guru! But I did know, like it mentioned in the article in the link below, that this guy loved to serve other people! He always was available to help me or ship me a part or whatever I needed in order to get me over a hurdle. I actually had plans this coming summer to visit him in Pleasanton, California, when I take my mom to visit her friend of 60 years who actually lives right in Pleasanton. Maybe I can stop by and try to be of some help to Emily, if she can use it...

Thank you Chefyota, for updating me on Philbert, as I was not able to get more info or have heard from the person who informed me of this tragedy. I am very sadden, by this as he was indeed a gentleman and a scholar to us all here on Yotatech. He continued showed us all his good demeanor to help others as he show us here and as in the article. He will be missed and my prayers go to his family.

Me too.... It's odd, that's around 2 weeks after the last time I spoke with him... A kind of touching bases regarding my eventual trip up there. I got so busy with this swap over the last several weeks but it never even crossed my mind until Junk4U brought this possibility to my attention.
You are very welcome. I figured you just didn't have his full name otherwise you would already know. To be honest, I actually put off looking for the last 18 hours... I really just didn't want to believe it. I was really looking forward to taking that trip and getting to finally meet him. He wanted to go wheeling maybe for a weekend or something then show me around Central-NorCal ... My mother was going to spend a week at least with her friends... This would have given me plenty of time to camp and hang out with the dude and get to know him. Now all I can think about is how horrible I feel for his wife and loved ones!

Found this article about Phil on a UK website. More details about him in it. I miss his insight already. Another one gone too soon. Condolences to Emily, the family, and his NVIDIA colleagues.
