CHEEZES 1986 4runner

I picked this thing up in March for 2600. It has 130,XXX on it and runs great. nothin special, but everything works. I have had a couple of issues but thanks to this site they were no big deal. This is my 4th Toyota. I just finished my bumper. I got the TG plate and threw a piece of 1 3/4 .120 on it. I want to do the cage next but I am lazy. I picked up an axle out of a 1980 P/U so I need to do that to. I will post as I go.

I had a nasty exhaust leak that got real nasty over the weekend after bouncin around in the hills. I took the down pipe off the header thinking it was just the doughnuts that were leaking. I am glad I took it apart because the previous owner had some "sweet stick welding" skills. The weld was about 3/4" high with pin holes everywhere. I ground it down and TIG'd it up. New gaskets and no holes makes a big difference.

Good looking truck man. If you copy and paste the IMG code from photobucket into your post your pics will show up rather than links.

changed out your links to the img code
when copying the links, use the [/img] code, it will be the 4th one to the side or the bottom of your pic when you scroll over the thumbnail in your album
..cool build

I found some pics of my last truck. 85 efi swap buggy springs and smoothies and high steer. I sold it to my cousin so its still in the family.

If I remember right the left rear was 24" off the ground and everything else was touching. My buddy has a lift on the side of his house, makes things easy!

I always liked those smittybuilt BTTF front hoop bumpers, still would like to get front and rear and the double tube roll bar even in my 93 standard cab :}

Took a 1000 mile round trip from Las Vegas to Durango CO and the Runner performed nice. 75 MPH the whole way! When we got there we found some pretty cool snow wheeling up in La Platta canyon. Couldnt beat it.

Ok guys I have a decision to make. I have been quoted 2k for a tg sas kit and rear lift to match shipped to my door. I have been quoted 2400 for an all pro sas with rear lift to match. The all pro sas does not come with the knuckle service kit so that price includes the marlin crawler service kit. After talking to a couple of people I am leaning towards all pro. What do you guys thin?

hey cheeze...i dig your runner! i'm heading up to Durango here pretty soon to catch some decent 'wheelin. as for the SAS swap i haven't done mine yet but i have talked to a few peeps who had theirs done using all pro parts. NOTHING to complain about. great customer service...great build quality. i think the extra $$$ is worth the peace of mind and reliability!
