Cool. Good to know you like your 268. I emailed EB and they did recommend that cam for my truck.

Another question. Found a guy selling 2 spring packs from a 93 for a good price. I guess theyre a bit longer than my 88's but the same width. You think they'll bolt on no mods? Or possibly use a leaf from them and add to my existing pack? Im probably gonna buy em and figure out how to make it work... $50 for two full packs. So do u guys know anything about 3rd gen springs on 2nd gen trucks?

That's great he got back to you on the cam. I really think it made a noticeable difference the more miles I out on this engine.

I would imagine that they would fit if they are slightly longer. Might just give a steeper hackle angle. I could be wrong. But for that price, I would buy them.

I was thinkin to get the pin holes to line up just cut the leafs down at the ends as needed. Since they're longer it should be no problem!

Ok, well I drove 30 minutes to buy those leaf springs off a 93 pickup. $50 bux. 2 full packs.

I cut off the ends so I can use all of the leaves (leafs?) someday if needed in my current packs. I plan on replacing the broken leaf plus adding one to each pack. See how that lifts it and make hauling the camper easier.

Trucks up and passenger side pack out. Driver's is being stubborn! I got tired, gave up for the day and cracked open a beer. Haha. Thankfully I got the motorcycle to fall back on.

Probably work on it again tomorrow.

Good deal. Pretty shirt drive to get them also. That's always nice. I sometimes have a hard time factoring in drive time and fuel to go get something that's a good deal. But typically if I can get there in 2hrs or less it's a go for me.

So did you put a few of those leaf's in your existing packs then?

I hope to finish repacking them today.

Hey Giz, I assume u have 5.29's with 33's cuz u were planning on getting 35's or bigger in the future and didnt want to regear again. How is the driving with the current setup? Whats your rpm at 65 mph in 5th? Just curious because I want to move up to 33s but also dream of 35s one day. Dont know if I should go 4.88 or 5.29.....

It drives great around town. Lots of low end torque. The highway is not too bad. At 65 I'm about 3100rpm. It's not ideal but still has torque at that rpm. When I drive down I Tecumseh I take 80 to hwy 50 all the way. Usually about 65-66 the whole way. Does fine. I would be curious to see how it does with 35's.

Looks and sounds like the bolt it rushed to the metal sleeve inside of the bushing, you might have to remove the bushing and get a new one and def a new bolt

Bushing is stuck too. I might just set it on fire and burn the bushing out. The only thing I can think of...

That's what I would do. I just had to do that on the frame swap/SAS build we are doing at the shop. Heated them up and hit them out. You ruin the bushings but the bolt will come out

Very nice!! Do you have access to a bearing press? I know im In CB, but I would be willing to meet you and take it back with me to try and press out. If you did not want to drive over here to CB.

Wow, you are too nice. Id rather pay a shop to push it out than inconvenience you like that. I'll give it some serious effort here soon. Plus my dad has a log splitter and I had an idea to use it as a redneck shop press. :-)

Just for fun I made this. All are on reg cab frame. (1) is rear bob. (2) is front bob with ext cab swap. (3) is ext cab swap with front and rear bob. I think 1 and 3 look goofy but 2 is something I would do. What do you like?

I think #3 would be best b/c you get all the benefits of bobbing the bed AND all the benefits of an ex cab. It may look a little funny, but practically, it should be great!
