I think a lot of people remove the front bumper to put on the two front body pucks, but mine wasn't wanting to come off. And I didn't feel like spending the time and effort. So I just trimmed the "valance" I believe its called and was able to get a wrench on the bolt.

And after only a few hours today on the cab mounts the body lift is done! And whatcha get is a nice subtle lift. I'm very happy with it.

We'll c if this works. The app edits the video 4 u so in the middle it kinda lingers on a stupid part for too long, but still cool.

Went to MetalWorks in lincoln to price steel for my rear bumper. A tube 3"x3"x55" in 3/16 is $44.46. I read on a jeep forum that 3/16's is the ideal thickness. What are your opinions? Will 3/16 hold up to rock bashing?

IMO 3/16 is plenty for rock bashing.Use gussets to your advantage and hug your body line for the most clearance.Nice video.i wanna go to.

Psh! Right is the only way I do things!

Before I ask via a new thread I have a question maybe u guys can answer. I've been searching but I guess I dont know what people are calling it... when you cut the bed corners off to replace that area with a plate bumper. I want info on how others went about it. So what do they call that cuz every time I search I only get bed bobbing threads.

This is what I mean

Not sure what they call it. But it's a nice mod. That truck is always in petersons 4x4 and off road. Great looking rig.

I'll ask about that in a different thread. Well, we went back to tuttle this weekend and did some more exploring. Still probably only seen half the park. My flex is garbage. Need to test it out and get new shocks ordered up. Still running stock shocks from 1988. Haha.

I got more pics I'll post later.

Idk if I'll go back to tuttle until I do some engine mods. If I hit a hill at 65mph in 5th gear I'll slow down to 55 by the time I hit the top. Annoying. Im thinking of starting with a 268 cam... thoughts? Whats the avg shop charge for that install?

Since I don't like a day when I'm not improving the truck I did something with the little daylight I had left.

For some reason the truck came with tiny stupid rear mud flaps. I took off the front flaps long ago and still had them. Found em in the garage. They're actually way bigger. Trimmed em up. Put em on the back.

Now I got some coverage for the poor folks behind me. Gotta clean em up a bit and maybe paint the letters red.

I have the 268 cam in mine as per engnbldr's direction. I was going to go with the 261 but he said with my .40 overbore, 5.29 gears, and 33's, it would be more beneficial to go with the 268 since it builds the power higher up in the rpm range.

I would call ted and give him all the specs on your truck. Engine mods, gears, tires, and future wants and needs for it. He will be able to tell you which one of the two would be better.

If I remember correctly the 261 builds the power at a lower rpm.

I really like mine. My truck has gone from having to downshift to 2nd going up the hill to my house, to now leaving it in 3rd and shifting to 4th at the top.

I have also found that it pulls harder all throughout the rpm range. Now I know this has alot to do with having a new engine thats bored over and 5.29 gears. But for my setup and what I use it for, its darn near perfect.

I am down for a YT trip to tuttle. I would have to make it a one day thing for me as I would not be able to stay away with the kiddos. But I could leave here really early like 4am to head down and just leave late in the evening. I know chris (kornhuskerwizard) and I have talked about doing the same thing.

Hope that helps
