I was bummed when I bought my sr5 gauge because the temp gauge wasn't reading right. It would jump to half way immediately and stay there. I opened it up, inspected it closely, found nothing wrong.

So I put it back together, installed it back in the truck, and it works now. I guess we'll see if it works tomorrow morning. That'd be great if I somehow fixed it with my magic hands.

Edit: Only worked this morning after I smacked the cluster. So something IS loose somewhere. Gotta take it apart again. Need my temp gauge!

Hey guys. Been driving with the new intake setup a week or so now, and thought I'd update my findings. After its all warmed up the cpu seems to dial everything in quite nicely. It does feel slightly more powerful. In my upper rpms I have a little more go. I only spent about $90 for the junkyard parts so it's a low cost mod. Runs great. A lil bigger injectors / 5mge TB and an lce header I'll be speedin!

Good to know that there is an improvement over stock.

I want to swing out your way and check it out in person. Too bad you couldn't bring it up when we met!

I know! And unfortunately I think I should park it again because I must've done a crap job packing my front pass bearings. It's grinding even worse now.

But if I keep having to redo everything multiple times I'll REALLY know what im doing eventually lol.

So true. I can't even begin to tell you how any times I have had to redo something on these trucks multiple times over.

Ok, well my tires were never balanced. I blame that for my passenger front bearing degradation. Whether it's the cause or not. I was always planning on trying the airsoft pellets for balancing. I don't fancy spending $40 for a shop to do it when a rock can so easily knock off the weights. So I did some research, and found a chart to tell me how much weight in pellets I needed for my tires.

I have 245/75r16's so I need 4oz of pellets in each tire. I went to hobbytown and bought the high performance pellets. I only needed 2,000 but 5,000 is all they had and it was the same price as 2,000 from online with shipping and all. Plus I wanted to start this project today. So I spent about $19 for 5k of the .25 gram pellets. 4oz = 113.5grams which comes to 454 pellets/tire. Going over is ok, go under and it wont balance so I will be using roughly 500 in each tire. Instead of counting my life away I split the beads into 5 equal amounts. Then took 2 of the cups and split that in 4. Equals 500 each. Give or take.

So for half the cost I can balance all 4 of my tires, and have enough for my next set. Well now that my pellets were ready I took off a tire. Deflated it, and tried to break the bead.

With these 2 methods I was still not able to pop it off! You've got to be kidding me! Since I need my truck tomorrow I threw in the towel and filled my tire back up. Grrr.... Giz if your shop has the tools to easily pop the tire off the rim maybe this is something we can do in 30 minutes or something when I come up for that grille. Frustrated...

I don't think a unbalanced tire would thrash your bearings, none of mine are balanced,I've had no problems.I think maybe your preload might be to tight or to loose.

Hmm... it seems tight to me. Is that adjusted simply by the 54mm nut? I torqued it to specs from my fsm...
