I think 2 since the you would still have a decent bed size for things you want/need to haul

The springs that were on the truck were not stock. They stuck out some. So I trimmed em up and now it looks normal. I'm sanding down the next pack today. Well, starting on it.

Oh gosh no. When the kitchen was redone all the old cabinets went into the garage. Well, today I took the leaf with the stuck bolt/bushing and a local shop pushed it out for free. Score. Got everything painted and ready. But no local store stocks bushings... so I wait on a new set from the internets. Too bad. I really wanted a rolling truck this weekend!!

I really dislike having to order parts online sometimes. It's much more convenient when you can rely in local parts store to have what you need.

So I sold my old rims for $200 and now have the money for my camshaft. I thought I had decided on the engnbldr 268. Then I read crap like this:

I could order it this second, but now I dont know if I should get 261 or 268. Yes i wanted to pull up hills better on the hwy. But I dont wanna burn out my clutch wheeling either! I also feel like I'm annoying Ted from engnbldr with my stupid questions. Arrrgh. What to do?

Aww hell, maybe I should just stop reading crap and buy the 268. I also got a line on a RF1A xfer case for $75. But I may have to drive far to get it. It's great to feel like the truck is improving. Winter sucked.

Haha, thats right! Kinda bummed my truck specs are a little outdated in the article, but it was still cool to be featured in fourwheeler.

He probably would have seen better results with the 261 cam. His experience with the 268 would have been different with 33's also.

You should drive mine sometime and see what it's like over stock with my setup.

The U-bolts finally arrived. I've got them under the truck but still have to tighten everything down. Hopefully tomorrow after work I'll have a rolling truck again. Miss it so much!!!

Sometimes you just have to skip work and work on your truck. Got it all put back together. A slight lift but I didn't measure before so idk how much now.

Got a new transfer case shift nob too, my old one didnt have the pattern on it. Enough of these little changes and the interior will be nice.

I almost bought a 3rd gen grille to swap on, but I'll wait to experiment with that later. Ive seen people put 1st gen grilles on 2nd gens but not 3rds on 2nds. So yah, rolling truck again! Woot woot! On to the next project...

Nice work on the springs. Trucks looking good. I love taking days off of work to get things done on the vehicles. But its also nice to teach automotive, as I changed my oil, washed and waxed my ford today. haha.

I would like to see what a 3rd gen grille looks like on these trucks as well. I also do like the 1st gen grille swap alot.

Giz I never took auto tech in highschool. Totally kicking myself for missing out on free, actually valuable education!! Still so much I need to learn the hard way.

Anyways, I just bought this:

Save myself the trouble of making my own. I don't have a drill press, but desperately want one. Gonna clean up some of those hoses.

So does anyone have any good methods for cleaning out that master cylinder? I flushed warm water through it, sprayed brake cleaner in it... still dark and cloudy. Can I submerge it in some magic chemical for a while??

If you sprayed brake cleaner in it you may have ruined the seals on the piston. I learned that the hard way....had to get another one.

Oh. Well, I took the reservoir off before the cleaner was sprayed.

Still have to add the other tow point, but the bumper looks much improved. Here's a before and after...

I hear you there. I wish I would have also had the opportunity to take some kind of class in HS that would have boosted my knowledge.

Thats a nice EGR kit you bought. I made my own but it looks no where as nice and clean as that kit is going to look .

I have used Brake cleaner spray in the past to clean a master out as well as other brake components. It evaporates fast and usually does not harm the rubber. However, I have experienced some swelling in certain applications.

Looks great man. I like the red color contrast against the flat black. Plus I love an upgrade that is totally useable. Can always use more tow hook/lashing/recovery points.
